The staff was very nice and showed us around. The common room and kitchen was good. The private rooms are in a different building, so you have to walk to the kitchen every morning but that's fine and not too far. The showers were good but our room as well. The room was just cold during the night. But overall you get a nice hostel in a cool neighborhood:)

Staying at this hostel was great! Compared to hostels in other parts of the world, the quality was especially good for the price I was paying. I stayed in the dorm style and the beds were nice and there was plenty of space. Overall, a good experience and very reccommended.

We got a private bedroom and everything was okay. I would definitely recommend this place. Clean, safe, with good environment and next to the Metro station.

There is just one sink on the whole floor. We stayed in a private room and hadn't one in our room either. The showers are really tiny. You have to fight with the shower curtain. But the chill out area is good and the pancakes for breakfast are delicious. The hostel is next to Walgreens and to a train station.

I recieved a call as soon as I booked and they were very helpful. Joey (I think/hope his name was!) saw my email about booking parking and responded right away. The porximity to the blue train was really handy, and there are lots of great places to eat and shop around. Overall it was a really great stay!

I really liked to stay in this hostel. The people were really friendly and because of the comunity kitchen in my dorm we met a lot of people and had a really good time. The location of the hostel is really nice too. You can enter the sub in 5 min and there are several restaurants and bars near by. Really nice hostel and i would stay there again!

Great place, and fun environment! The hostel is super clean, comfy, and well located. There are many cool international and American travellers I had the chance to meet and hang out with as I travelled alone to explore Chicago. The staff organizes fun pub crawls and we had a pizza/ drinks party at New Year's eve. The staff are very helpful and attending to guests' needs and they provided me with tips on the greatest food and theater deals in Chicago. A whole lot of great company and fun!

Very nice and "homey" place. I came on Christmas day and they have party 'till midnight. It was fun. The staffs are very helpful and friendly. Only one thing that made uncomfortable, I got the top bed at the loop for the first night and I couldn't sleep because the heater was very close to my bed and it was so hot. Anyway, I will recommend this hostel and I would like to stay there again if I come to Chicago next time :)

This hostel was in a great neighborhood, right on the blue line! I will definitely stay at this hostel next time I visit Chicago! The staff was friendly, knowledgable, and very accommodating. The facilities were very clean, and the all-you-can-eat pancakes were great! Thanks for the wonderful stay, Travis.

Really good hostel, i've stayed in lots of hostels around Europe & this is one of the best I've been in! The staff, Wyatt, Olivia, and Christine were very helpful. There was never a wait to use the bathrooms, the rooms were warm, & they had a free pancake breakfast and welcoming atmosphere. The hostel was also only a 5 minute walk to the subway which takes you to downtown in 10 minutes! The area (wicker park) was great, lots of close by bars, restaurants and a seriously incredible walgreens!

Fantastic location within five minutes of the Metro line into Chicago city-proper. The staff were incredibly helpful, and the social facilities at IHSP were among the best of any hostels I've stayed in around the world. Free pancakes is always a plus! The rates are fair, and on-site parking was a particularly attractive option given the difficulty of finding parking in Chicago. No major complaints, though the excessive humidity of the room could be considered to be slightly uncomfortable.
