If you are staying in Kyoto, stay here! It is the lovelist hostel. The owners speak English and can not do enough to help you. The location in the heart of the Geisha district is perfect. I was travelling alone and there is a great communal area to meet people. The hostel itself is traditional Japanese style, absolutely lovely.

I would definitely recommend this guesthouse! The location is excellent and the owners are so kind and accomodating. The decor was very minimalist and zen and suited the Gion area. It is a great value for the money and well suited for those who are looking for a quiet place to stay while enjoying Kyoto.

This was my second stay here and I would definitely go back again. beautiful and characterful building in the heart of Gion, peaceful and comfortable women\'s dorm, amazingly clean, and with very friendly owners. It attracts a good mix of solo, couple and group travellers from all over the world. Yashi, the male owner, is friendly and helpful and is good at breaking the ice between the various guests and getting everyone talking. A nice place to be as a solo traveller!

I really enjoy the stay at the hostel. With the enthusiastic host, I had a good trip around that area. Furthermore, I like the decoration of the hostel , it's just like stay at the traditional Japanese style house

I really liked this place, friendly helpful owners (thanks for the loan of the umbrella), the interior felt like a traditional Japanese home. Very homey. Good coffee too.

We loved this Hostel! It was very clean and comfortable, the staff was extremely nice. They let us keep our luggage there for hours after we had checked out. The building was really unique and wonderful. Next time I go to Kyoto, I'm definitely staying here again!

This place was delightful! The tatami room was super comfy and spacious. I found it really easy to meet people in the living room, and the upstairs shower room is probably the coolest I've ever seen.
