The place is good. Except for the fact that during the night there was a battle in the common spaces. When I wake up the following morning asking what had happened, the RECEPTIONIST !!!!! told me that SHE was the person who was screaming and BANGING THE DOORS. So....I don´t know if she is still working there, but would be really better for you to choose another place where to stay

People were smoking in the room, the reception played loud music EVERY night. (on saturday until 06.00 on the morning...), the breakfast was nothing. The room was very dirty. The positive thing was that we got fresh orange juice every morning.

Entre los servicios que ofrecen está el traslado al aeropuerto (en la Web Hostelword), cuando no es cierto. Cuando se pide dicho sevicio indican que es un error. La broma es de 160 pesos argentinos.

My stay in the Ideal Social Hostel was fantastic. The location is excellent It´s a lovely old house in the city centre right beside the obelisk very close to all bars and shops and the subway is a 30 minute walk so you can easily travel to all parts of the city. The atmosphere was excellent with good facilities the rooms were clean and brilliant value for money given the location. The staff were extremely friendly and always up for a few beers. Will definitly visit again. Amazing women!

Top Hostel! Have been there 3 times during my South America trip and always ready to come again. The name IDEAL tells the truth - it really has IDEAL LOCATION and IDEAL PRICE for what they offer - super tasty breakfast (with freshly pressed orange juice!). Veeery friendly team, always ready to help you with everything. And it is indeed ideally SOCIAL ( I especially recommend the room 13 ;) ), a lot of my friends I traveled with I met for the first time in this hostel! I will miss this place...

Yes - central location, affordable, very clean, helpful staff, great wi-fi connection. San Telmo, the coolest area of BsAs is a 15min walk. It's a big place so you can escape if you want some peace & quiet; alternatively, you can hook up with other travellers - plenty of people milling about. The 12-bed dorm has the coolest stacked beds and a balcony so it's nicely ventilated. But mosquito repellent is highly recommended!

The music plays 24 hours a day. People are walking around singing, screaming, dancing up and down the corridors until about 7 am, when they finally go to bed. My room had no window, no a/c, only one key that four of us had to share, and was full of mosquitos. The door was made of glass so all of the light from the corridor kept the room lit up all night and therefore there was no sound barrier. I paid for two nights in advance, but moved out after the first night. The staff were friendly.

Great choice in BA. Very central, 10-15 walk to San Telmo. Near to metro stations. Free wifi and computers. Great breakfast and mostly helpful staff. the building interior is really lovely, wooden floors and a nice communal area and balconies. Quite noisy at night (the sound from the bar seems to travel everywhere), but get your earplugs in if you want to sleep and enjoy.

Location is good, but isnt safe afte 8pm. A woman'd been stolen on thursday. Attendants dont have much patience and I had to stay in the darkness on night because the attendant didnt want to get a stairs that was in the next room to change the lamp. Horrible isnt it? If you wanna sleep you have to stay on 2nd floor, cause theres no respect about silence. Very loud laughing on bar at 2am. My bedroom had not locker. Really, go Chile people are more friendly.

Very nice hostel, great central location in Buenos Aires! Good clean bathrooms staff are helpful but you need to ask them I wasn´t quite sure how many people worked there but all nice people. The only hiccup was that the room I booked was US 7 and they only had rooms for 11 dollars, which is not what this website advertised! But they gave free beer if you stay more than 3 nights and I got the 7th night for free, so in the end it was good!

3 fast computers, plenty of small social areas, lots of beds fitted into small space in 12 bed dorm so its a bit crowded and hot, sheets and towels come packaged so you know it's clean, nice breakfast.

pretty average... but a good value for the location.... 2 things are pretty anoying: 12 bed dorm only has 8-10 Lockers... not as good, if you are the last person ... dont look for an early night, when you sleep in the 12er dorm... book another one room... PS: first time, i have seen a 4 bed bunk this style...

The staff here is great and always attentive, they make you feel at home! place is huge and very clean. always clean bathrooms and hot water 24 hours and the beds are very comfortable there is an excellent environment for meeting people. It has everything you could ask a hostel, if you want something better pay a 5 stars hotel!

The hostel is in a good location and does the job, but it's nothing too special. They have 2 kitchens, but they do not allow you to bring alcohol into the hostel. You have to buy it from their bar. The owner/manager is helpful but none of the other staff will give you much information. I'm sure there are many better hostels in buenos aires, but for the price I'm not complaining.

Dorm room was cramped with triple decker bunks. Staff couldnt tell us which beds were ours when we arrived and didnt know which ones were occupied. Breakfast was quite small as was the kitchen. Location was great near two subway lines.

Our first stay in Ideal Hostel was pretty bad. We were put in a corner room about 2m by 3m with 6 bunks. I was about 2m off the ground and others were 3m. The computer was just outside so we had to listen to noisy skype conversations all day and all night. At least noise is restricted after 12. We moved to another hostel after three nights but for various reasons had to come back for a night. This second time the room is much better. It is an 8 bed dorm but with much more space.
