Iguana Backpackers

This is a tranquil area surrounded by lush greenery just a short walk from the center of Montañita. This means you can easily stumble back from the bars at the end of the night but won't have to listen to the thumping club music until sunrise if you want to go in early.

Our hotel is located just 150 meters from the beach. We offer mostly shared rooms at low rates (1 room with a double bed, 3 rooms with 3 beds, a dormitory with 6 beds, and a loft area with 10 beds). Quality services and amenities are available including wifi, hot water, shared kitchen, laundry service, deck/terrace.

Our deck is a feature we are quite proud of. It looks over a tributary that flows into the ocean where iguanas can frequently be spotted in the surrounding greenery. The fun and friendly atmosphere of our deck is a great meeting place where you can hang out with travelers from all over the world. You will truly feel at home when you are with the international people of Iguana Backpackers!

We speak Spanish, French and English and will be more than happy to help you discover Montañita and surrounding towns along the Ecuadorian coast also known as the 'Ruta del Sol'.

Please notice that we will place you in any room we have availability. If you are more than 2 people you will not necessarily be in the same room together, if you want to be in the same room please e-mail the hostal to check if is possible
