This is a really nice hostel. Super chilled in the day but comes alive at night. Montanita is definitely about the nightlife, so the location was brilliant to be able to party, but go back to a quiet hostel. Had a fun time here meeting new people. Staff are not that friendly and the showers are rarely hot, but apart from that, a good place to stay.

If u wanna party hard this is the place. People were awesone, and Sebastian and Andy rock the house in drinking games and taking everyone to party places afterwards. Could use more toilets tho, think there's one for the first floor and another for the second. Still cool place to have an awesome time.

Iguana was a great hostel. Minutes from the beach and the center of town. All the backpackers staying there are friendly and fun. Everyone gets to know each other in the common area and the nights are started with games at the hostel run by the friendly and enthusiastic staff. When quiet hours start, those who desire all go out on the town together. Super fun party hostel and a great atmosphere. Book the loft if you can!

I stayed there 3 days. Water went out twice and the bathrooms were dirty. No toilet paper. If you're in the dorms, you will hear the noise from the loft above. There is a lot of creaking from the wood at all hours. Good atmosphere for beer pong and getting drunk before going out. Nice that each bed had mosquito nets. Huge lockers. Staff only friendly if you partied, otherwise they had no idea who you were. Walked out at 4 am because the noise was too much, slept on bus to Guayaquil instead.

Nice terrace with big iguanas just outside, which is cool. Rooms are alright. Showers are cold but that doesnt matter since the climate is so tropical..

Location is good being just out of the action but close enough to walk in. The downstairs hammock area is a great place for chilling out and meeting other travellers and it's a nice novelty sleeping in the dorm up on the roof with the breeze to keep you cool. Decent place, but seems like you can get more for your money elsewhere.

Wicked time at iguana. Location was spot on. Short walk to the main area but quiet enough to sleep. Slept in the loft which was so inch better than the rooms! Sebastian was a legend too! Thanks for a rad stay montiñita ✌️

Good hostel in a safe area. Great staff, especially Roman, who really goes above and beyond. As for the rooms, I was in the outside room which was nothing special. Wifi didn't work in the room. Hostel is cosy and clean. They also have a free salsa night.

AMAZING ATMOSPHERE!! Great place to chill and get to know new people, great drinking games with tge staff and everyone goes out together to parties! You have cleaner, closer and more "normal" hostels, but hey, the have Iguanas walkin' around ;) Great fir the more relaxed and social trevaler

The "8-bed" loft (I counted 11) is actually better than the 6-bed dorm, even though the price is the same, because the latter gets hot despite the roaring fans.and loft is more open-air and breezy and comfortable without fans. The wildlife--birds, iguanas, etc.--in the lagoon just outside is amazing and would be even moreso if someone would pick up the garbage.

Iguana is great! Never experienced such a lovely atmosphere from such a small hostel. The social area is great and the rooms are nice. Its also a fab location because its far enough from the main strip so you can sleep. Also, ace to see iguanas so close!

This was a really fun hostel to stay in, and very easy to meet other travellers. Love the hammock chairs. The staff was helpful, and the beds were super comfy.

Fun hostel with a great location. The loft is the best value and has a nice breeze. Kitchen is quite small.

Absolutely perfect for the bleary adult theme induced dream that is Montanita. A 2 min stroll from where all the action is which is perfect to come retreat to at night/morn. Both the dorms and private rooms are well maintained, and all the basic facilities are met (hot showers were hit and miss but in Montanita you really couldnt care less) Common area is great to meet people and plan a night out, and shout outs to the sandwich man next door! Best cure for montanitis is fresh food from this dude

I had a great time at this hostel ..... I heard stories from friends about the terrible times they had there ..... And I can see how it could happen ..... If your interested in resting and not being social stay somewhere else

Good party hostel but the common areas felt a little crowded, checking in I couldn't make out who was staff and who wasn't. A minus for no power plugs for charging things in the room.

There is a great atmosphere in the hostel, I met a lot of fun people there. Its far enough outside of the town to get a good night sleep, but its just like 3 min walking, so it has a great location. The 10 bed dorm upstairs is great, because its outside, so you get some air in the night.

Nice place, I had a fun stay.

It has a great location and great atmosphere. The security is not the best. Our room had a hole in the window for anyone on the street to come in through. There's a locker in the room, but it's not big enough to hold big travel backpacks. I found the fact there was no way to close the door unless it's locked, to be rather annoying, because there's no door handle, which means if you don't have diligent roommates, your door is open to everyone. If you've come to party, it's your place for it.

Great if you want to meet people and party
