This is a lovely little sparkling clean pensione in an absolutely ideal situation: central but down an attractive side-street so that it is quiet and charming. Recommended.

The hostel is just amazing, very clean, modern and clear. The staff was ok, but could have a better map to help us with info and walking around. The bad point is we left at 6am on the following day and booked a taxi to the station with the staff who just forgot to book it, we end up walking around at 6am with our lugagges trying to find a cab. Apart from that, everything´s was ok.

The breakfast could be much better, at least with fresh bread or croissants (those were really stale)!! And there are too less bathrooms for all the guests (only one shower, 2 toilets to share for 12 people). Why aren't there any normal towels? Therefor the bathrobe is not so necessary in my opinion. I would appreciate it further to have a chair or some small table in the single room. Many thanks!

A fantastic place with an excellent location near the city centre. The room was impressively clean and nicely furnished, breakfast was good, staff helpfull. Great value for money.

very small place so no chance to meet anyone, it used to be a fashion agency so you have to ring the fashion agency number on the door, which I took a while too figure out. You can't use the kitchen, but the breakfast is ok. But very clean, big wardrobes and big bathroom.

Great service. Very clear and maps to all the local sites and bus service. The host spoke english and was happy to assist us with any questions. The rooms were clean and location was quiet so all in all a very pleasant night's sleep :) Bed was a tad simple but we were offered tea and coffee of our choice and didn't have to wait for anything. The only downside was having to wait for the bathroom on a couple of times. If you need a shower I suggest using the bathroom in the evening instead.

The hostel itself is clean tidy, nice, and has everything you need. However, the staff really pissed me off. First, I had to confirm my arrival time (7pm), kept getting called when I was late, and when I finally showed up at 9pm, no one was there despite telling me they would wait. Second, when I asked if I could leave luggage at the hotel until around 2pm, I was told it'd be free. When I showed up at 2:30, I was told it was only free until 2pm and charged 5€. Don't recommend this hostel.

Il Castello is located in the very heart of Bologna. The B&B is located in an apartment that has 4-5 rooms, the interior is very nice and tasteful and everything is very clean. The staff was very nice even if not very talkative. However, one big issue with this place is noise coming from other rooms. Not necessarily because of noisy fellow visitors but because the "wall" between the two rooms seems to be just a built in cupboard and you can hear absolutely every move and every word.

We specifically chose to stay at Il Castillo because the location and price but also and very importantly for us because we could have separate beds. But when we arrived we we're given a room with one bed and the girl working at Il Castillo told us that they were out of rooms with separate beds and that was it. We later found an extra bed in our closet that she hadn't told us about but that bed was not comfortable at all. We had booked four months in advance so this really annoyed us.

Excellent location, only a 5 min. walk to piazza magiore. Very clean and quite modern. Too bad the kitchen can't be used, otherwise you could get to know the other vistiors and maybe exchange ideas en stories. Polite staff, that provided a sufficient breakfast and made excellent italian coffee.

Where do I start with this place. Walls are thin so you hear everything, can't use kitchen??, staff look and act like they would rather paint a house than be there, 1 show for 4 rooms that could have like 3 in some?? Only good thing about this place is the location and the espresso I got in the morning.

Il Castello completely spoiled us as to our expectation of a hostel. This was our first time staying in a hostel and we were completely blown away by the quality, the service, the atmosphere, the location, the cleanliness and the hospitality. Noise from room to room was a bit of an issue with noisy guests but overall a highly recommended place to stay! Though a bit tricky to locate the main door, we loved our accommodations and wish we could find more accommodations like this in other cities.

Stay here! It's great! I'm very picky about where I stay, I refuse to stay in Motel 6, Super 8, or any other low to mid range places in the States - but I felt very comfortable here. It was a little tricky to find, it wasn't marked on the outside so the group I was with had to ask arond. Turns out you have to ring the bell marked "Fasion Line" on the outside of the unmarked door. I must have overlooked that information. But, If I ever find myself in Bologna again, this is where I'll be staying.

Great location, easy walk from train station, comfortable bed and very clean. Breakfast was quite late, and there are no convenient sinks in the room. The staff are friendly to a minimum and there is a fantastic kitchen that is forbidden to use. I don't understand this. It would be very perfect and would add to the competitive advantage of this place. Overall, would recommend.

Super-center location, but in a quite place, free WiFi, very clean. Breakfast served only from 8.30 and there is no possiblity to use the kitchen. Stuff could be more helpful about where to eat ect, but all in all for the price they charge it's a very good option.
