The location is excellent, there is a computer you can use which is very handy for planning trips and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The only possible issue anyone could have is its at the top of 3 flights of stairs.

Francesco was very welcoming and helpful in his directions to the various locations my daughter wanted to visit in connection with her Art History course. Perfect location for getting to and from the train station (to visit Siena and Assisi) and if you turn right out of the hostel and make your way to the next corner of the street there's an excellent cafe for breakfast - friendly and not expensive. Enjoy!

We arrived quite late but the instructions left for night access were very good and we got into the flat and our room no problem. The owner was really friendly and very helpful. The only downfall with having reception only covered 9am - 6pm is that there is noone there at night which would have been useful, as we were kept up until around 2am by some other very noisy and inconsiderate guests partying in the communal area.

We had pretty much a whole flat to ourselves since the other room wasn't booked! The staff is nice:) enough English to communicate fine, but hard to ask about tips for the city, etc. Venice itself is sa amazing that just wandering is what I think you get the most out of. And eat the gelattto while your here, it's amazing!

I really enjoyed my stay at Il Ghiro. The owners were very friendly and helpful, but not overbearing. The facilities were all very clean and fresh, and the location was superb. Florence is a city for walking, and Il Ghiro is less than five minutes from the train station and a perfect home base for seeing all the sites. It's much smaller, quieter, and more relaxed than many other hostels, so you feel more like a resident than a tourist. Overall I HIGHLY recommend Il Ghiro!

Francesco is one of the best hosts ever! He was very helpful! Our stay couldn't have been better. If you're staying 3 days or more be sure to take a morning to visit san gimignano. 1 hour and half bus ride from the main bus station, which is right next to the train station, 2 streets from the hotel.

This place is great. Our room was big and clean and had a nice sized bathroom. There is also good wifi. Its location could not be better its located near the Duomo Cathedral and many other of the important places to visit in Florence. The hosts are very friendly and helpful and provide maps and advice about where to go and what to see. There is no breakfast served but there is plenty of places to get food nearby. We would stay here again in a heartbeat.

We backpacked Europe for nearly two months and Il Ghiro by far was one of the best places we stayed. Francesco made us feel so welcome and many mornings we woke up thinking we were in our own bed because it was so comfortable! We ended up staying an extra night because we loved Florence so much and Il Ghiro only added to our positive experience. Highly recommended!
