Such a cute place! The room was super cozy, and we even had a small balcony. Big plus for the small fridge. Only improvement would be to extend the wifi to the whole area, instead of having people hanging out their windows to try to catch signal :P would stay here again!

Great location in quiet Corniglia, host Stefano was very helpful in giving us recommendations and information, not much a place to meet other travelers, but I think the Cinque Terre area is generally sparse in those types of hostels. Rooms at Il Girasole were very clean and everything worked well. Price was a little higher than we'd hoped for, but the same goes for almost everywhere in Cinque Terre. Right nearby to Alberto's Gelateria, yum!

Very nice play to stay in a beautiful location. The owner was really really nice, well spoken and told us everything we needed to know. Everything was as described, the only problem we really had was shotty wifi, but if you walk down the street like 1 min theres and internet bar that has really good connection and some good coffee as well. We loved it and would recommend it to anyone wishing to stay in cinque terre.

We had a really enjoyable stay in cinque terra and this hostel in Corniglia is a good base, however a few things about the place were a bit irritating- the door handle fell apart whenever you tried to use it and the light above the bed constantly flickered when turned off. If the room was a bit cheaper is happily sit on these complaints though. Keep in mind this is just a room and not a hostel, perfect for a couple, not so for a single traveller.

Our stay at Il Girasole was lovely! Corniglia is a great little town in the centre of the cinque terre and although not the most lively place, we fell in love with the local vibe and all the quaint little restaurants and cafés. The room was basic and pretty small but suited us fine! It was right in the heart of town and great value for money considering some of the crazy pricing you find in the cinque terre region! Highly recommend :) the only issue we had was the wifi could be a bit dodgy.

The room and location is fantastic. We stayed 6 nights, definitelly worth it. We had a massive king size bed, in a large double room. The staff is just the owner and his wife. Very nice people, they dont live in corniglia, so we didnt meet often. Our room was actually in a family apartman, but suitable for group of friend too, which includes two bedrooms nice new shower and kitchen, normal size table and fridge in it. Over all, its worth it. Go there and see it yourself :)

Absolutely loved this place! First of all, the guy who ran it was great. We arrived early so the room was still being cleaned so the guy took our (heavy) bags for us then carried them up the stairs once it was done whilst we were out. The room is like a ski lodge, very nicely furnished and a nice little balcony. Fan and fridge provided too. Location in the heart of cinque terre in the best town of the 5! Very short walk from where the shuttle bus drops you from the station

Thank you very much for your welcome! Stefano's house is well located and he is especially welcoming (and has good advices on restaurants to go!). Parking in the city is a bit difficult so consider using the train instead!

Our stay at Il Girasole was lovely. It is nestled in the beautiful town of Corniglia, and the room is bright, clean and spacious. Wifi was a bit patchy and kitchen only had a fridge - no cooking facilities. Beware that there are a lot of stairs and the nearby supermarkets are very small and only carry bare essentials but this is the charm of staying in such a small town. Alberto gelateria and la posada restaurant nearby are musts!!

We really enjoyed our stay - only one thing - a small bar fridge in the room would have been good. We thought we had booked a room in a hostel (as we booked through Hostelworld) so assumed there would be communal cooking facilities. Not clear when we booked that this wasn't actually the case.

We had understood that we would have a patio. As it turned out the patio was in another apartment. As our group had 7 people and 3 of the rooms so it would have been nice to have a place where we could all sit and talk and have our tea. As it was we had to use one of the bedrooms to sit and eat in. The small vestibule with the refrigerator has a light on a timer that goes out every 90 seconds so it is very annoying to have a meal there. Other than that everything was great. Loved it.

Would be useful to have information where to buy basic food items. It was close by in the shop in the square. Also the pizzaria close to the rooms was good for take aways. The small balcony could have been cleaner and needed a new table and chairs. We enjoyed our stay in the room. It is a great position being central in Corniglia and the Cinque Terre and has all the facilities we needed for a walking holiday.

Overall had a great experience. Enjoyed staying in Corniglia as we were in the middle of all 5 villages. The room was large with a comfy bed and very clean. Very quiet, didn't see or hear the other guests when we were there. Other reviews complained about no wifi but there was during our stay.
