A very good place to stay, really near to malls and San Josés heart! Very nice people all the time staying there! I had the opportunity to meet the owners and they are very good and nice people to talk and even hang out if you want to!

I found all what I need. Cleanliness, good wifi, security and a familiar atmosphere. For breakfast I prefered pancakes with peanutbutter, pineapple and a delicious coffee. Supermarket and a mall with big food court is very close. To the university area with a cool party street you walk only 15 minutes. Otherwise the always friendly and helpful hostel stuff can call you a cheap taxi. Don't forget to check out the relaxing living room and terrace with the nice garden. I will miss this place.

What a great place-hostel for spend time in Costa Rica!! Many thanks to InanBasic Hostel Ron, Karlis Eduardo and Paula! Guys they offer you great deals and information for all over the country, the staff is more than friendly...feels like your adoptive family overseas! Internet, nice rooms, amenities, things to do around in San Jose, close to the center and the Universities sectors, movies, mall, calls, breakfast )really good, they even prepared it early for me! This is a MUST if you come!

It's very hard to find if you're driving. The no-street-signs in San Jose doesn't help and while some other hostels in the area have signs on the street, this one doesn't. Adding a "how to get here" part here from the airport, while driving, would be useful. Other than that: staff was great, friendly, knowledgeable, room was clean (but the mattress has probably been through a lot, not very comfortable). Not many places to eat around, but a safe neighborhood.

It was far from downtown. Definitely not walkable, but close to transit. The hosts are a bit pushy about places to see, so don't let them talk you out or doubt your plans.

To make it short - I found this hostel very average. Nothing special to brag about. The breakfast was pancakes, made from a poweder mix with some kind of liquid that was suppose to resemble Maple sirup... Room - only bads nothing else there, no furniture to put your things etc. So really ONLY bunk beds. The owners live there.

Definitely a nice and clean hostel. Also safe. Disappointed by the service and the rather impolite reactions by the staff on certain occasions, for example when a friend asked if we could have breakfast at an earlier time , as we needed to catch a bus at in the morning.

Our stay at the hostel was great! Ron was an excellent host and truly did his best to help us with all our needs and question. We highly recommend this hostel if you are staying in San Jose for a few days. Very relaxed and safe atmosphere. Would define you stay here again ! Toda ron !!

A great place to start my trip! I arrived late in the evening, after a $30 cabride from the airport, and with only a rough idea of what I wanted to do in the country. The owners were extremely helpful in getting me familiar with the city, my options and even what the country had to offer in a realistic way. I came to appreciate the safety and security of their location as you really cannot walk around downtown after dark like you can in Los Yoses. The hostel was very clean and well equipped.

The location is out of central San Jose, but this is a huge plus since I wouldn't want to be downtown. Ron and Karlis are very lovely, and helpful if you don't know what to get up to in Costa Rica. However, I already had a plan and despite their claims that they weren't trying to sell me tours they were very pushy in trying to change my plans to all tours - it was frustrating. However they were very accommodating with my arrival/departure during the wee hours.

Wonderful information about everything you could want to know. Ron really goes out of his way to help you make your trip how you want it to be. Great comfy beds. A little hard to find, so if coming from the airport, the shuttle isn't a bad idea.

loved this hostel. the staff and owners were so helpful it was unbelievable how great they were. they really made the stay worth it. a little far out but not to bad if your spending most of your time out on tours - they help organise some great tours. Need more comfy beds but other than that we would stay again.
