Fabian (the owner/manager) made our stay! He spoke mostly spanish but was so helpful, helping us book bus tickets, telling us where to go in town etc. Since we had limited Spanish he also helped us figure out how to use our Peruvian mobile to call a Bolivian hostel we'd found online and make a reservation. The rooms were clean and facilities fine. This hostel is also walking didtance from the train station. But Fabian and his genuinely helpful attitude is what made our stay!

The location is near the center and there is a great common room. Unfortunately, the owner does not speak English at all.

This is a true family owned business. The owner Hilda cooks the pancakes herself. The place is close to stadium where dance festival was, and the market areas, which is why we stayed here. Some rooms face street, others have windows facing inward, and ours was warmest with just a skylight. Hilda provides a lot of details that you don't see at larger places. There is a kitchen which is not mentioned on her description. She is upgrading. She helped with bus tickets also. We'll return!

Another instance in which the Hostelworld photos are nothing like the real thing. The hostel is average, if perhaps a little less than average compared to others. We searched around once we arrived in Puno and found better hostels at lower prices. We paid more than we should have at Inka's Rest, given the circumstances. The location is not too bad, just down the hill from the main drag. Breakfast was typical of most hostels. The bed linens need some improvement.

We encountered an older gentleman who ran the hostel who was extremely unhelpful and actually rude at times. Overall the hostel isn't bad but the decor and maintenance could be improved. For example having working doors, or not leaving cleaning supplies etc lying around in the hallways.

A great place to rest, with good , confortable and clean private rooms, great hot shower and an excellent breakfast. It's also close to the Plaza de Armas. good owners, Alfredo y Gilda amazing and Helena

Clean rooms and helpful staff for arranging tours, busses etc. breakfast is basic but fine. Our room faced the street and had the brightly lit hostel sign outside the window. The curtains did not keep the light out at all - sunrise all night. Slept with travel mask on. Water was hot most of the time

The owner of the hostel is very rude. Was not very helpful and will yell at you if you do something wrong. Also, instead of just telling you the information about things like wifi when you ask, he just tells you to read the papers on the wall, apparently everything is written on there...

Owner Comment (Show)
It's not right, every time you go down and called for the wi-fi password, then asked the price of the laundry, then low and asked the departure time, then low and wonder schedule of breakfasts, TOO The information is the dashboard of your venue, you can not read? Just thank you very much for your comment.

The staff (only the man at the desk) is dishonest. He will say whatever it takes to get you to stay longer or pay more. He told us the Bolivian consulate was closed for a holiday, we went anyway and got our Bolivian visas so we could leave the next day. He advertises a 5% discount at the Arequipay hostel in Arequipa, but refused to honor it. He tried to argue that our deposit payed on Hostelworld was already a discount. He also gave incorrect information on bus departures to Cusco.

Owner Comment (Show)
Thank you very much for your comment. But unfortunately you lie, you made the appropriate discount is available, only that you intended that each extra day to make a reservation is the discount esto.Igual not right so he did not know why this comentario.El consulate ago of Bolivia was closed on Thursday, 20.The information that was given to the buses to Cusco correctly, although you were going to Bolivia. Thank you very much.

I enjoyed staying here. It was really cozy and felt more like a home than a hostel! The location was great, close to everything. Staff were excellent. Nice lounge area, kitchen was ok, basic but enough to be able to make meals. Very quiet.

Nice hostel, I liked that 2 twin rooms shared a communal area although there weren't separate locks on the doors to each room and there were no lockers. Wi-fi didn't work very well, staff didn't seem bothered about that - Internet was fine on computers. Average breakfast - cold pancakes. The lady at reception is lovely and they sorted out an uros islands tour for the next morning when I arrived late. Would stay again!
