Property Information:
International Budget Hostel is beautifully situated in the heart of the city centre in the Leidseplein (Leidse Square) area. Leidseplein is the most famous nightlife area in Amsterdam. The location of the hostel is on a quiet, beautiful canal - the Leidsegracht.
Rooms are shared mixed from triples and quads to five- and six-person rooms. Each hallway has showers and WCs.
Our hostel, set in a former 17th-century warehouse, has a cosy lounge facing the canal where one can relax and socialize and meet other fellow travellers. Breakfast is not included in the room price but is available in the lounge between 9am and 12 noon. The lounge has vending machines, a television, an internet station and a public phone. Free Wi-Fi is available in the entire hostel. We are placed in a old monumental building with no elevators, just steep stairs.
We also have a house cat (which does no harm at all) who just stays in our lounge area and does not come in the rooms.
The hostel is a few minutes from the famous Van Gogh Museum, beautiful Dam Square, the entertaining Red light district, relaxing Vondelpark, historical Anne Frank House and the best clubs, coffee shops, bars and restaurants and many more great places.
The staff can provide you with great ideas to spend your time in Amsterdam. If you're interested in renting a bike we're happy to organise this for you.
Due to the new non-smoking law which is introduced since July 1st 2008, smoking is not permitted in the hostel. The entire hostel has smoke detectors. There is video security in all public areas.
We are pleased to announce our new indoor smoking room, where you can chill out, socialize, and smoke in comfort looking out over Amsterdam's beautiful canals. The rest of the hostel remains smoke free

We're in a traditional canal building just around the corner from Leidseplein, which is one of the main nightlife and entertainment areas in Amsterdam. On a 10-minute walk you can find some of the main museums, such as Anne Frank House, the Van Gogh museum and the Rijksmuseum. In a 15-minute walk you're in the heart of the Red Light District. On a warm day, I think the Vondelpark is a wonderful place to hang out, and if you're looking for quirky souvenirs the Flower Market is a great place to go.

We offer guests the opportunity to book several tours, like free city tours, bike tours and pub crawls. We also rent out bikes to guests.
We pay a lot of attention to detail here here and hygiene is a priority. Because it's a hostel there's not much luxury, but you can definitely expect to have a clean bed and shower.- Laura, Manager

Cancellation Policy
This property has a 1 day cancellation policy.Failure to cancel within this time will result in a cancellation charge equal to the first night of your stay.
Things to Note
Check in 24 hrs there is no curfew.
Payment is due upon arrival. City tax of 5.5% is not included and will be added to your balance upon arrival. There is a 5% surcharge when paying with Visa or Mastercard and 10% surcharge for American Express.
We have a minimum stay of two nights over the weekends (Friday-Saturday or Saturday-Sunday). We have a 24hr cancellation policy during the week; 48hr for weekend reservations (Fri, Sat, Sun).
Cancellations made less than 24hrs in advance shall be charged for the first night's accommodation. Cancellations made at arrival shall be charged for the first night's accommodation plus 50% of the remaining balance. If you cancel during your stay and the reservation is prepaid you will be charged for the rest of your booking (100%). Cancellations around the holiday period must be emailed/faxed to the International Budget Hostel a week before arrival date to avoid a 50% charge on your credit card. During holidays, all cancellations are required to be faxed or e-mailed to the International Budget Hostel at least one week prior to arrival date. Failure to do so will result in a 50% fee, which will be charged to the given credit card. Cancellations on arrival during the holiday period are charged for the full amount.
The reservation will be terminated if the hostel does not get authorisation on the credit card. Please note that the booking fee and the 10% deposit is charged by Hostelworld and is not refundable.
An authorization is not a payment but only as a guarantee for the hostel
the amount of the authorization is depending if the arrival date is on a weekday or weekend. Arriving on a weekday, the authorization will be the first night per person
and arriving in the weekend (Fri/Sat) the authorzation will be the first 2 nights per person as the minimum stay in the weekends is 2 nights.
