Property Information:
International Budget Hostel is beautifully situated in the heart of the city centre in the Leidseplein (Leidse Square) area. Leidseplein is the most famous nightlife area in Amsterdam. The location of the hostel is on a quiet, beautiful canal - the Leidsegracht.
Rooms are shared mixed from triples and quads to five- and six-person rooms. Each hallway has showers and WCs.
Our hostel, set in a former 17th-century warehouse, has a cosy lounge facing the canal where one can relax and socialize and meet other fellow travellers. Breakfast is not included in the room price but is available in the lounge between 9am and 12 noon. The lounge has vending machines, a television, an internet station and a public phone. Free Wi-Fi is available in the entire hostel.
The hostel is a few minutes from the famous Van Gogh Museum, beautiful Dam Square, the entertaining Red light district, relaxing Vondelpark, historical Anne Frank House and the best clubs, coffee shops, bars and restaurants and many more great places.
The staff can provide you with great ideas to spend your time in Amsterdam. If you're interested in renting a bike we're happy to organise this for you.
Due to the new non-smoking law which is introduced since July 1st 2008, smoking is not permitted in the hostel. The entire hostel has smoke detectors. There is video security in all public areas.

Great place If you are looking for a quieter environment outside the main downtown area. Lots of cafe, and easy walk to any sight in the city. Friendly staff (we got a recommendation to an Indian food place that was excellent) and clean bathrooms. Only small quibble is that there are basically not places in the shower room to keep you clothes or towel dry while showering.

Cancellation Policy
This property has a 1 day cancellation policy.Failure to cancel within this time will result in a cancellation charge equal to the first night of your stay.
Things to Note
Reception is open from 9:00 to 23:00 every day; however, there is no curfew. Please contact the hostel at least 24hrs before arrival date if you will be arriving after 23:00, in order to ensure your place. Payment is due upon arrival. City tax of 5% is not included and will be added to your balance upon arrival. There is a 5% surcharge when paying with Visa or Mastercard and 10% surcharge for American Express. We have a minimum stay of two nights over the weekends (Friday-Saturday or Saturday-Sunday). We have a 24hr cancellation policy during the week; 48hr for weekend reservations (Fri, Sat, Sun). Cancellations made less than 24hrs in advance shall be charged for the first night's accommodation. Cancellations made at arrival shall be charged for the first night's accommodation plus 50% of the remaining balance. If you cancel during your stay and the reservation is prepaid you will be charged for the rest of your booking (100%). Cancellations around the holiday period must be emailed/faxed to the International Budget Hostel a week before arrival date to avoid a 50% charge on your credit card. During holidays, all cancellations are required to be faxed or e-mailed to the International Budget Hostel at least one week prior to arrival date. Failure to do so will result in a 50% fee, which will be charged to the given credit card. Cancellations on arrival during the holiday period are charged for the full amount. The reservation will be terminated if the hostel does not get authorisation on the credit card. Please note that the booking fee and the 10% deposit is charged by Hostelworld and is not refundable.
