The hostel had so much potential that it sort of made me sad that it was so mediocre. The floors were clean but the walls were dirty and need painting. The staff were excellent but most of the time the common room was filled with friends of the staff, groups of people who spoke together in Turkish and didn't do much to make guests feel welcomed. A bit more effort would go a long way to make this hostel really amazing.

A great option for a hostel if you're looking for an escape from touristy Sultanahmet. International House is right at the top of Istiklal, the pedestrianized shopping street, and minutes away from Taksim square, close to the Metro and the Havas Shuttle drop off point from the airport. The staff were very friendly and helpful, there is an elevator, rooms were simple but clean.

The mattresses and blankets were not clean, the walls are peeling of, it was impossible to open the windows, the hotel has no sign from outside and the fridge was not functioning, reeking badly and definitely not clean when we opened it, there was no soap and no towels. In other hotels where we stayed in and outside Istanbul we got a much better service and facilities plus breakfast for approximately the same price.

Sometimes, some part of a wall was on our beds and a man began some housework at 4 o 'clock in the morning in a building next to us but the staff and the location were good. It's a good place if you have to take a bus to the airport.

Super friendly staff - ready to help 24 hrs a day. Super clean and new facility. Nice hot water and a clean room. Only problem was that it was hard to find the first time - there is no sign! But its above the CIN CIN restaurant. Find that landmark and you're there. Steps from the Taskim square makes it a great spot.

Awful. We even couldn't stay there because hostel was under restoration and we did not know anything about it. We were not informed. We could not take our depozits back. Never ever ever prefer there ! we went to hostel to stay at our check in time but there is nobody. Door was locked, lights were off. I suggest you that stay far far away from this irresponsible, unrespectful and racketeer hostel.

Very centrally located place right next to Taksim square.. walkable to everything.. for whatever reason it is not named outside ( ??) which makes it hard to find.. so note down the street name , number and look for a non descript white calling bell.

Great, convenient place to stay in Istanbul if you want to go out at night -- lots of fun bars right nearby! And easy to get to the Old Town for sightseeing as well. Room and bathroom were clean, staff was great, tea and water in the lobby is a nice touch.
