I like the generosity of the owner, he is nice and rules of this hostel are very common. This place also close to China town and Metro station. No towel, I didn't know up front but I have one of my own, so it's ok. Breakfast provided, but not that great. However, I didn''t expected that in the first place, so it's ok for me too. Last thing is the water quality, I didn't know how safety is the tap water, I poured it to my bottle and saw something in there, so I used boiled water instead.

Excellent hostel. Clean. Breakfast is a nice touch: cereal, toast, and tea/coffee (nothing special). Room is clean, with a nice and large lockabale closet. Parking is available for 10$ a day in the back (it is a bit tight back there and you have to leave keys with Ron). Location is right next to the convention center (1 block away) but too far to walk to any other attractions. Metro is 2 blocks away. Although I didnt use the other ammenities, the hostel has games, tv, free phone calls.

I don't usually stay in hostels but this was a very pleasant experience. They place was very clean and the staff was incredibly helpful. The person who checked me in had to stay up late waiting for me to get in and not only did he not complain but actually sat me down for 30 minutes and gave me some great advice. They were also very helpful about holding my luggage the day of my checkout so I could go see more of the sights

The place was really clean. The location was absolutely great also. I was leaving early and coming out late, with no problem, i felt really safe.

This really is a great hostel all around one of the best I\'ve stayed in. The staff is friendly and when I checked in, Greg helped bring my stuff up to my room. Upon check-in they were very helpful and helped me get oriented with the city. The lockers are large and secure, the breakfast and kitchen facilities were good, and the location is decent. I\'ve seen maybe two bugs, so it\'s pretty clean. My only drawback is that I wish there were more bathrooms or toilets.

It would be great to see more attention paid to connecting travelers to each other and to the urban landscape. There was practically nothing at this hostel to share local events or attractions, and no way to enrich one's stay in this vibrant, exciting city. But the staff was very nice and helpful, and the accommodations were not bad.

This hostel was in a great location, within walking distance to the sights or a quick metro ride. Some of the staff were helpful and friendly while others were the opposite. There are not a lot of bathrooms, but it was not a huge problem or long waits while we were there. The breakfast was basically just toast but that was better than nothing. For the price, the location can't be beat especially since while traveling you don't spend too much time in the hostel anyway. Clean and affordable.

Location was excellent. Felt like I was living in someones house sometimes thou. In the common room/rest area I felt that I was sharing that room with a kid. I am sure that the stairs were leaning as well. The breakfast really wasnt anything to write home about and only discovered it after the 2nd night, wasn't explained to me at all. And really guys . . . . . . . .cant have a buisness where you pay in cash nowdays - was rather inconvenient.

The staff was very nice, and the room was quiet and comfortable. Close to walk to the museums and trains and I felt safe walking back in the evening. I would definitely stay here again!

The staff here were extremely friendly and helpful. It's a quirky place, but calm and comfortable. Very close to the metro and walkable to the centre. Don't miss the soul food at the Saints Paradise cafeteria round the corner! Friendly people and great food.

I love this hostel. It's a wonderful place to see and explore Washington DC and the rooms are very nice (max. 4 people in one dorm). But the best thing is the owner: Ron is very helpfull, knows everyone by name and you can always talk to him (questions, recommendation, conservation,...).

The description of the rooms were not in detail so there was some confusion when making the booking. I then emailed to double check that my booking was correct for a private room and got a reply confirming my booking was for the private room. Upon arrival it turned out that the booking was in fact incorrect so we had to pay an additional charge and stay in shared dorms which was what I was trying to avoid, In the end we stayed one night but it would have been good to have a clear response.

Ron (the owner) was LOVELY- so helpful and kind- he really loves what he does and cares about the people staying in his hostel. The woman who works there is not so great- she checked us in (after leaving us waiting for an hour in the lobby) and as we were waiting to leave, we overheard Ron checking someone else in. He gave them a wealth of information which would have been invaluable to us, and we were so gutted we couldnt have benefitted from it! Awesome place overall but ask for Ron!!

Totally disgusting. I had to wait 10 minutes until someone appear to open the door. There is no reception, the cleanliness does not exist. The appearence is terrible, it is not a Hostel. It´s a house where the owners try to receive people. There is not a minimum structure to receive guests. Run away from this place.
