All was good except the fact that the rooms needed some refurbishment. PS. a queen cannot be a patroness of an hotel. Only a saint can.

The lady who checked me in was lovely. No atmosphere if you're wanting to meet people and charging extra for toast seemed ridiculous, but very comfortable room, clean bathrooms and very secure. I would stay here again.

Room was damp, musty and generally grubby. Location was excellent, being only a short walk from both Regent's Park and Great Portland Street tube stations, as well as from The Regent's Park itself.

A very clean and safe place to stay, but uninteresting. If you're looking for a quiet place to sleep with little activity, this will work fine. Best part: underground station outside the building. Worst part: no atmosphere, and no WiFi to distract you from the fact no one is around.

the location was excellent, the bar was really nice. But it was difficult to get hot water. The staff, in general were really nice

If it wasn't for the location (in the center - huge advantage!) which was great I would be probably dissapointed The room I stayed in wasn't very clean and it was in the basement so there was very little light. Also the atmosphere was poor. However, it wasn't so bad since I didn't spend there much time anyway and everything was within a walking distance. The area is also nice - with a park, 2 supermarkets and a subway station nearby.

The staff were friendly & helpful and the room was clean & tidy. Stayed in a dorm the night before the London Marathon & it was comfortable and the showers were hot in the morning. The bar was nice, the canteen OK but a bit over priced and there were two computers available for about £1 or £2 per hour. My only gripe was that the downstairs area had a club night on so they switched off the computers and I couldn't use the credit that I paid for. All in all a good cheap place to stay in London.

Hostel location was perfect and so easy to get to (just opposite great Portland tube station). The staff were all friendly and very helpful. Perks were: - bar tokens (buy one get one free) - £2.90 off food at their reataurant - free wifi - 15 minutes free Internet on their computers (in case you need to print anything off.) A major help was the fact we could leave our luggage in their storage unit for £1 per suitcase (until 8pm). Would definitely stay at ISH again.

Large and impersonal but the staff are very nice and professional. Clean, safe and a decent price for the location!

Even though the night I stayed in this hostel was Easter, the hostel was still a little too quiet. The bar was empty, and I missed dinner entirely so I cannot comment. Honestly I was a little disappointed that I encountered so few travelers.

This hostel is really a dorm. And it has all downsides of dorm. I was placed in 4 people room with 3 permanent residents. One of them invited his friend to stay over, so I was in fact living in 5 people room. Room itself smelled BAD, it had to be constantly vented, which also made it cold. shower inside room didn't work, I was told to use communal one in the hall, which in turn was full of fungus and had vents completely blocked with dust. For that price value was simple horrible. Avoid.

I've booked a single room for one night to check out this hostel and it was a good idea. Room smelled very bad. I mean REALLY bad, I had to leave window open most of the time. Wifi was tragic and you had to pay for internet cable. Staff was competent but nothing beyoud that. Food was horrible. Bathrooms very filthy. I'm not picky! I've lived in dorm for several years, it was much cleaner and I've paid for it 4GBP per day though, not 25+. Value for money is horribly tragic.

Great place .... The showers could do with being warmer... The ones I tried where. Either cold or hardly warm.... Other than that it's a excellent well run place ...

I needed to check out very early and had to collect two deposits, one for a lock and the other for the room keys. I was told that I couldn't be given the deposits back because the staff didn't have access to money early in the morning. It's not rocket science to have cash available early in the morning to facilitate people who need to checkout early.

i don't like the house. The toilet is on the next floor. The smell in the room is not good.

The place is pretty good mainly because it is very close to two tubes and about 20 minutes walking to Oxford street. Though they have issues regarding checkout. If u dont turn the keys before 10am (no a minute after, and it is serious) you really lose the 10 pounds deposit. Other downsides of thisplace are the toillet/bathromm cleanness, hard to take shower, pretty disgusting and the drain doesnt work well: water flooding all over the shower. Also, they charge to use the computer.

Good location, easy walking distance to lots of attractions and Oxford Street and a good variety of food places in city centre. Hostel staff are helpful, feels very secure and dorm rooms have lockers. A good place to stay.

Bittersweet experience. Reception is in a place and I was surprised when told the rooms are in another address (8min walk). Very incovenient as meals are served in the 1st building, every morning you have to face the rain to have breakfast. Staff is nice, room is immaculate, VERY clean, beds made already, towels a glass and soap are given at the check-in, very good. There's also a sink in the room and a kettle and microwave along the corridor. Apart from the double location, everything was great

I stayed in the 10 bed female dorm. the beds were alright, and I liked the curtains as they give you a little privacy and block out the light.speaking of which, there were nice reading lights and 2 powerpoints in each bed! There were some sinks in the room as well, which is nice, BUT there was a really disgusting smell coming from them, it ruined the stay for me presonally! Otherwise, it's nice to have free wifi, and you get vouchers for the restaurant as well. The location is excellent!
