This hostel is literally one of the worst I've ever stayed in. It's so noisy you can literally hear everyone and everything that goes on no matter what. Even from the second floor you can hear the music in the reception. Walls are not built all the way up and therefore it's not a room, it's "something". Staff doesn't really care about you and not warm not welcoming at all. Instead, it seems like the hate the fact that you are staying in that hotel. Rooms are tiny and almost no space for you.

two things: 1: this is the most crappy location for a hostel i have ever seen. 3rd world america at its best. its dirty, unsafe, the highline subway is loud as ... 2: i booked a 4-bed room but was really staying in a 50+ room. because: THERE ARE NO ROOMS! is one big room, yes divided but walls, but they dont reach the top! so you hear EVERYTHING ANYONE is saying or doing - all night long!

This was my first time ever staying at a hostel. I thought it worked out great. Convenient and clean. Would consider staying here again. Thanks.

Very convenient location in hip Williamsburgh. 10-15 mins walks for great restaurants and bar joints, right across the street from train station and few minutes from ferry. Staff was very friendly and accommodating, shoutout to Vince from the nightshift! :) The place was spotless clean though the bathrooms were filled with hair and some area were rusted. Overall I really liked my stay, it was a nice clean and quiet place with comfortable and large enough beds (I'm 5'11).

+ve: Affordable location (for NYC), in a great area! -ve: Smelt a lot of feet, although glade plug in's tried to combat this! Very noisy due to wall/celling divide , which is only really a problem if other people aren't considerate! The washrooms whilst really clean, the doors ensure you can see almost everything through them, whilst using the shower or toilet! Shame there wasn't any advice offered on places to go/things to do, nor hostel get togethers - which may be due to size of hostel!

Wasn't a bad hostel, good atmosphere with the kitchen/common area next door, three train stops into Manhattan, however I didn't understand the sleeping arrangements! No roof on the hostel 'dorms', it's like one big level they've divided into stalls which basically means you can hear EVERYTHING everyone is doing on that floor, you can see lights from 4 doors down, it's just not a great place for actual sleep. Staff were average also, however if neither of these things faze you, then go for it!

Their vending machine is eating your money and they don't retrieve you the money. Be careful. And it's very noisy and not sound proof. Every room is connected from the top. You can hear what others are saying clearly and soundly.

This was a really nice modern hostel and was very clean but I just didn't like the rooms, they were like cubicles - understood this before we booked so don't want to moan but The walls don't go all the way up so you can hear the people in the room next to you and when someone turns a light on it shines in your room too. Not great for a good night sleep really, subway is right above so it goes past every 10 mins or so. It's a nice place but a very strange layout. Wifi in the rooms were good.

The main weakness is about noisiness and privacy in the rooms. The walls are opened at the top, so anyone can hear any noise coming from other rooms.

The place is really nice, is the 3rd time I stay, is worth every penny! ...my only comment could be about other guests poor higene habits in comun spaces, kitchen and bathrooms but is not Hostel's problem.

Half wall.. I couldn't sleep well hearing every noise in the whole floor. But the stuffs are friendly and the room is clean( although extremely small.

The location (subway nearby and in Williamsburg) would be the only good reason to come back.

Super clean for a hostel! Staff were really friendly and helpful. Great location near the subway to Manhattan (uptown and Downton) and a great walk over Williamsburg bridge to the east village. The kitchen gets locked from 2am-6am so no late night snacks! And the walls that don't quite meet the ceiling :-S ... Thank God for those ear plugs is all I can say! I had a great stay however and would happily return next time in in Brooklyn.

Excellent location! Clean & friendly. The walls between the rooms are more like dividers as they don't reach the ceiling. The guy in the next room was a snorer!

There are bugs everywhere the rooms have open ceiling, meaning you always have the hallway lights in your room, and you hear EVERYTHING on the floor. Talking in the hallway, in the rooms, alarm clocks, music, snoring... It is almost impossible to sleep. The rooms are basically prison cells; it feels like you are sharing a room with 100 people on the floor with 10 feet tall blocks separating your personal space.

Excellent expérience at this hostel; great Brooklyn neighborhood. We rode the CityBikes across the bridge and explored Manhattan that way; very convenient!! There were a lot of travelers (22-25 yo) while we were there.

* Lockers are a bit small, a MacBook barely fits in there. Don't forget to bring a padlock * Great location. 1st stop on the J, Z and M lines out of Manhattan, takes about 15-30 mins to get to most places * They mostly offer 2-bed rooms, but the walls don't go all the way up to the ceiling. Can get noisy, expect little privacy and little sleep your first night. I got used to it * Bathrooms are kept clean very well, enough capacity * Towels are included * Wi-Fi = ok * Expensive, but ok for NY

Walls end 3 feet before the ceiling. Woken up multiple times in the night by loud drunk people. Staff not helpful. Water pressure bad. One of the worst hostel experiences I've ever had.
