If you are a solo travel or looking for a community of backpackers, I'd head to Backpackers down the road or Red Chili. I didn't end up staying for that reason. There have been large groups that have stayed there, though, and for those groups I am sure IYH is fine. The hostel is also right above a bar, so you can hear loud music at night from the rooms. No internet. Owner is very warm and friendly.
