Loved the location, the hostel itself was not bad at all, friendly staff. But I never had to do my own bed in a hostel, EVER!

Location is excellent, just 3 blocks from ipanema's beach. Also it has a swimming pool and the atmosphere is great to meet people from all over the world. As well, it is worth mentiin that Ipanema is the best neighbourhood to stay, since it's secure and has all the fun, and the hostel it's located in the centre of it. I would definetely go back there.

great place to stay. only a couple of blocks from Ipanema beach. would definitely recommend this place to others and if return to Rio would stay here again. One small gripe, not all the rooms have AC which can make the rooms a bit stuffy in the night.

Ipanema is very much the upper class part of Rio, you will feel very safe in this area. Hostel staff were friendly and the place has great facilities in respect to kitchen, pool area and space to lounge about. Recommend using the toilets and showers towards the back of the building, bathrooms in the main building are overused. The hostel organises daily activities at reasonable prices.

The perfect location! Two blocks from both Ipanema beach and the Lagoa. The staff are really helpful too with whatever you need.

I had a great time at Ipanema Beach House. The location was perfect for visitors to access the rest of Rio either through metro or taxis. Several stores and restaurants around Ipanema Beach House.

The beds and lockers could be in better conditions (not all lockers were able to lock). Breakfast could be a little earlier than offered, so that the guests that want to do early activity can start early the day. The facilities are not in the level of the price, but the location is very good. The staff is very gentle. In overall, the experience was good.

The shared bathroom didn't have hot water and could be cleaner.

Met amazing people and had a brilliant time. The hostel wasn't perfect, but I've stayed in much worse places. I'd recommend it as a place to stay.

Good safe area, nice hostel and good beds with decent sized lockers! Bathroom could have been a bit cleaner but overall a good place!

Ok, but but beware of the triple bunks and don't go buying any tours or tickets from them. More of a relaxed hostel than social.

This hostel is full of Brazilians on holidays in groups and so if your on your own and don't speak Portuguese your alone as they will not make an effort. Thankfully I was with a friend but just pointing out to lone travellers. Also I didn't think the staff were very helpful. They answered the basis questions. On plus side though the breakfast was great and handy having big lockers in rooms. Would be good if staff organised pub crawls to get the people to interact more

There was just one bathroom on the floor I was staying in, so the shower was always busy. Also, the shower curtains were nasty! But the hostel it's nice and breakfast is good.

The location near the beach and restaurants and shops is unbeatable. Also, the common areas are really comfortable and nicely situated. Bathrooms were the big complaint. There was only one on the same floor as 24 beds, and it was pretty nasty. There are plenty of other showers/toilets at the bak of the hostel, but it's a bit of a hike.

the staff seemed to be not very interested in the people who stayed there. they were more busy with facebook... unfortunately I was not allowed to stay in the garden after ten, even though I promised just to lay in the hammock reading a book... kitchen is not very well equipped to cook.

Stayed a week here but really should have only done 3/4 days an checked out centro it copacabana! Staff were proper friendly, drinks from the fridge were so expensive! Just go around the corner to the supermarket and get urself larger beers for like half the price an stick it in the fridge! Really friendly staff and tours available also.
