After booking on Hostelworld, we arrived to find that they had not received our booking. The staff assisting us dealt with this very poorly-they had a brash attitude, did not apologise, and tried to shift the blame onto us saying that we hadn't received a confirmation directly from the hostel (how are we to know?), when in fact they had no space for the whole weekend anyway. One of the staff members kindly found us a spare room to spend the night but instructed that we had to leave the next day.

The hostel was very nice and well kept, however there were issues with the booking through Hostel World and the staff was not accommodating. Also, the staff were not helpful with suggestions on what to do in the area. They do have a tour guide who works for the hostel. He gave a great tour of the Knysna Heads and the Knysna township that was very worthwhile. All in all, I would recommend this hostel, but if booking a private, make sure your reservation on Hostel World is accurate.
