Not as expected - the shower was filthy dirty and the hot water did not work. Bed linen had not been washed and the place generally was tired and needed re-vamping. Location was good though and cwalking distance from Knysna restaurants and shops.

We arrived in our room and there was a pile of dirty sheets on one bed, a cigarette but on the floor, the trash hadn't been emptied, and there was a bag of open food on top of the in-room lockers. The bathroom smelled like urine, and the floor was sticky. It was hard to overcome the complete lack of cleanliness, but I believe that the hostel had a good vibe, and it offered lots of different options for getting to see Knysna.
