I paid cash when I checked in and the next morning when I checked out I was questioned about paying. It looks like in the book it did not state that I paid. That was a bit frustrating and uncomfortable to deal with first thing in the morning when I needed to go to the airport.

Location is excellent, right in the heart of the city nearby the Blue Mosque and Aya Sofia. Bathrooms and rooms are clean, albeit not very spacious. Rooftop bar is an asset with nicely decorated furniture. Breakfast is more than average. Once ranked the best hostel in the world, I wouldn't think that is still the case but it still is quite good, with an excellent value for money.

Good what what we needed. A bed and a roof and a free breakfast. Nothing flash but did it's job.

Great location, friendly 24 hour staff with a good sense of humour. A nice breakfast and comfortable room. Travel desk was very helpful. Could have been better with personal lockers but overall a good hostel.

Fantastic location on the old side. Showers very old and unclean.

Incredible location - right next to the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia. For anyone looking to get the most out of their Istanbul experience, this hostel is perfect. Facilities were great, showers were one of the best I've seen in all of Europe. Highly recommended!

Pretty good location, close to main sights in 'old town'. Rooms are spacy and beds are good.

Overall, the hostel was nice. The staff are helpful and the facilities are clean. Great location for visiting the museums and mosques. Everything is within a 10-15 minute walk. There is a really neat rooftop hang out place where everyone eats breakfast. The staff organize shuttles services (for a fee)to the airports even in the middle of the night.

Perfectly adequate hostel; breakfast was a bit small (couple slices of tomato and some bread), but the location was excellent and the restaurant/bar on the roof was great too (nice food/view).

Too few showers, but all are clean. Nice location. Room looks unsecured. Requires proper storage space with locks. Currently very small storage/ lockers are there in the rooms. Only one power outlet in the room and that also in one corner, which is quite inconvenient for the 9 people staying in one room.

Great hostel. I really enjoyed my stay at this hostel for 3 nights especially the amazing location! The staff were friendly and helpful and there was a good a good atmosphere amongst the travellers. The rooftop bar is really cool too.

Great location! And you get what you pay for. Wifi and breakfast included free. Bed was comfortable. Being June was very warm at night. Bathroom was pretty dirty, showers had mould and needed a good scrub. One toilet had no flusher. Safety a problem, front door left open, would be easy for anyone to walk in off the street. Bedrooms had locked doors but no lockers inside bedrooms so I had to carry important things everywhere rather than being able to lock them away.

Very friendly! So helpful and nice, perfect location - sometimes the restaurants and cafes are more expensive but great place to stay!

It´s ok, I spent there only one night and was fine. The rooms are ok, its clean, the location is perfect and its cheap. The breakfast is very poor. Nothing special. I stayed in Bahaus hostel after. better breackfast, view ... but rooms at Istanbul Hostel are better. Its fine, font think much about it!

Nice crew, great location close to some historic monuments and the rooftop of the hostel was nice!

The shower was nice, the breakfast was good, and the location was absolutely spectacular. However, there were no lockers and you could only store small things in the safe. The staff all speak English, but most with a limited vocabulary so that you can't actually converse with them and they might not be able to answer or understand your questions. If you take the airport shuttle, pay in euros, it's cheaper. Overall it was decent, but I've stayed in better.

If you got just a few days, this really is the place to stay because the big sights are just around the corner. The staff is very nice, funny and always helping you out. They even got needles for blisters and desinfection or loadingcables for any kind of phone... They should probably have a room as meeting point where every guest could hang out and get in touch - else it was just the case during breakfast on the roof - Amazing view from here: hagia sophia, the typical houseroofs, the sea...!

Friendly staff and fantastic location, right next to the Aya Sofya, perfectly placed for walking around and then stopping by the hostel to relax again before heading back out for the day.

Had a near perfect stay, very friendly and helpful staff on the reception and tourist desk. Great location. Only but noteworthy criticism, the terrace bar and restaurant manager was particularly creepy and inappropriate to women. From saying inappropriate comments to physically touching a girl. He was sleazy and I would fear for lone female travellers to be put in this situation. A real shame as the hostel was great and we did really enjoy it, nothing happened but we both felt uncomfortable.
