The hostels is nice especially the workers(Paco). The terrace is awesome because of its view facing towards the bosphorous straits. Paco, the receptionist here is very friendly, teaches me how to speak turkish and helps me a lot(gives discount). The breakfast is ok.....

My girlfriend and I stayed at the Istanbul Hostel for about a week. The staff was friendly, accommodating, and responsive to our needs. The bathrooms were clean (particularly considering the number of beds in the dorm rooms), the mattresses and linens are very good and the free breakfast is much more balanced and healthy than any we've encountered in our travels. The location is ideal, being right around the corner from the Aya Sophia and the 10 lira airport shutle is a great deal!

It was such a good time. The staff speaks great English the rooms are clean. The linen was changed when people left. The breakfast was also great. It wasn't your usual continental breakfast. It's close to everything so you'll never have to use public transportation. I will come back here one day. Thanks for the memories!

I traveled with 5 other people and we were all very pleased with our experience. The hostel was very clean compared to other hostels. The staff was friendly and helpful. And the location of the hostel was perfectly in the middle of all the tourist attractions. We also enjoyed the hostel's restaurant; the food was very good and was was priced very well. Complaints: More hot water for showers and lockers for baggage in the basement dorm room.

Great little place, although the rooms get hot at night during the winter. The price and location can't be beat.

I really like the hostel! really clean, well located, safe, food in the restaurant is cheap and good. the only thing i would suggest it's maybe to put something in the showers (like a little bench or chair or something like that) because it's really dificult to get to take the shower in the small showers and not get your clean clothes all wet! but is just a suggestion!

The 21-bed is underground, not locked (bring one! room is essentially open to the public) and everything and anything said in the main lobby can be heard perfectly there. Manageable with earplugs, except when one of the staff got drunk and yelled every few minutes, or another was blasting music on his computer. Indeed, right by the main sights, but would have been better to stay in Taksim with more fun and cheaper food, and trek down a day or two for tourist sites. Shower is moody. Fairly clean.

A had such a pleasant time in Istanbul Hostel. I can't imagine any better place especially for young peaople to stay. Everyone who stays in Istanbul Hostel go on the roof terrace and enjoy the view on the sea, the Hagia Sophia, and the quater Sultan Ahmed.

This place really warms the cockles on a cold Istanbul night - the 20 bed dorm is good value and is nice n warm. The location is spot on - right in the heart of the Sultanahmet action - and you can see the Aya Sofya from the rooftop restaurant! The breakfast is great (as it is everywhere in Turkey), and the staff are all really friendly- especially Paco!!

Great location and good service/facilities for the price. PAco and Emre at the desk are very helpful with information on town, tours, and anything else you need. I highly reccomend the hostel

Location is good if you're a first timer in istanbul, when it's great to be so close to so many of the main tourist sights. But Sultanhammet is a place you can get bored of within a couple of nights as it is like any other touristy areas in the world. Gonna stay on anatolian side next time, better bars and more relaxed vibe. Missed a common room, there wasn't that much socializing, at the same time we were there during low season. Hot water is always on in the ground floor showers.
