This has been my favorite hostel. We couldn't have asked for a better experience. The staff was amazing, the location was phenomenal, and we overall just had the best time because of the hostel. I highly recommend it!

We had a double room (ensuite) in one of the apartments owned by Itaca Hostel (short walking distance from the actual hostel) and can only recommend staying there. Nice and clean rooms with a comfortable bed and enough storage. The bathroom was clean and new! We shared the kitchen with people from two other rooms. It was a new, clean kitchen (cleaned every day) with everything you need and a free breakfast was set up every morning, too! Staff and location are great as well! Awesome hostel!

the hostel is really nice, the paintings on the walls and the cosy decorations they have make you feel at home from the very first moment. receptionists are nice, some of them very enthusiastic which I appreciated really much! however, the environment is definitely not the best for meeting new people but on the other hand, great for privacy :)

We stayed in Itaca Red which was down a couple blocks from the main office. It was a Suite with a couple shared bathrooms & 3 private bedrooms. It had a full kitchen, living area & a balcony. It was beatiful & a great location. Very clean. The only drawback Was that it was hard to keep quite when coming or going because Of the heavy doors, marble hallway & no rugs to soften the noise. I loved the place- wish I could have stayed there the whole week we were In BCN. Pricing was very good.

Overall a pretty great place to stay! The bathrooms (more specifically the showers) were a little gross but the rest of the place was nice. Great common room for meeting people! Make sure to ask at the desk about the free dinner! It wasn't the best but it was free food! Location can't be beat! Steps from the cathedral.

Our first stay here in January was fine -- we were in a mixed dorm in the central building and had no problems. This time we stayed in Itaca's apartment, which was a 2 minute hike away, in a slightly shadier neighborhood. So in terms of location it suffered a bit. The lobby in the main building is a little cramped when people are trying to use the computers and wi-fi, but when the upstairs common area is opened that isn't too much of a problem. Otherwise, up to par.

We got an apartment managed by the Itaca Hostel and about an 8 minute walk away. It was very clean, comfortable, well-equipped, and spacious. The only drawback was the lack of an elevator (had to lug suitcases to the third floor). The apartment is located in a well-lit, working-class neighborhood with narrow alleys, very close to La Rambla. The hostel staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. I believe that on our next Barcelona visit, we will try to book the same apartment again.

Itaca is a really nice hostel. I met very interesting people there. The only contra is that the common room is closed at 11 pm. Nevertheless I can recommend Itaca!!

(I stayed outside the regular Itaca Hostel at their Beates Apartments). Everything about the Beates apartment (I believe we stayed in Red) was great, specifically the location and the cleanliness. Breakfast was provided everyday which was nice because it saved us a lot of money. I would definitely stay there again.

This place is clean and comfortable, however, they had people staying in the common area so there was nowhere to hang out. The staff was nice enough but not particularly helpful. The way this hostel is set up makes it difficult to meet people, the breakfast is pretty bare-bones, and the overall atmosphere is rather uptight and dull. Wouldn't recommend.

Great location-right by the Cathedral (Barri Gotic), very friendly and helpful staff and a really nice free breakfast. Could have used an extra blanket as it got a little cold during the night(we stayed in late February) but overall the stay was excellent.
