First my impression on the hostel was extremely bad: a very small stuffy and dirty room, where other's luggage occupies most the floor space (there is no other place to keep your staff), the blanket not covered by any sheet... But then it went not that bad: I asked for the second sheet and got it for free so could sleep normally, the staff and other guests were very friendly, every night there were free good pasta or coctails. Moreovere, the location is just awesome.

If you like to party, this hostel is for you! If you want to relax at night, think again. The staff graciously provide free pasta or cocktails at night and blast music for a great party atmosphere. If you like that sort of thing, it is awesome.

Rome was my first stop on my Italy trip, and traveling alone (as a female) I was a little nervous- but I felt incredibly comfortable at Ivanhoe hostel. I did get a little confused on where to find the hostel, but luckily for me the Hotel Ivanhoe man pointed me in the right direction.

Positive aspects: Nice ambiance. Good free spaguethi :) Negative aspects: Some guys in the staff are too noisy or unfriendly. Some of them keep whelling, all night long, stupid things that could be solved by a simple notice on the door (PUSH THE DOOR!!!). Also, the nice ambiance of the hostel is destroyed by poor quality songs that the staff force us to listen to on the maximum volume.

This hostel was an average experience at best, its location is great and the breakfast was really good, however it's really small for the amount of people there, the rooms are small ,the security is horrible and there are only a few lockers per room and u have to pay to get them ! And although u get kicked out of the hostel from 11 to 4 so they could clean the hostel isnt that clean ! The bathrooms and showers are not enough as well. Also once it's 12am u cant sit, speak anywhere in the hostel !

great party atmosphere and random nights (like free spaghetti dinner night), but everything seemed for business and you don't get the home-away-from-home vibe that hostels are supposed to provide (daily lockout from 11am-4pm to "clean", no siesta for you). also, no designated area for baggage and stuff means your baggage gets moved around from one corner of the kitchen to the other quite a bit --- freak out moment. the location is excellent, but i don't think i'd stay here again.

Staff was really cool, and nice; however, the beds were NOT clean. My bed, as well as, several others in my room had Bed Bugs, and we all got eaten up by the bugs at night. They didn't change the sheets everyday, and they did NOT even have pillow cases over any of the pillows. This hostel also says it is a party hostel; however, they have a lights out policy at midnight!! So, I would not recommend this hostel because of this. There are better places to stay for the same price.
