I guess when booking a last minute hostel in Tanzania you can expect the worst, however Ivory Anex was definitely less than expected. You may argue that for ~$15 you can't expect much, but I would say parts of the ceiling falling on your head whilst taking a shower, zero security and staff that were far from helpful, add up to make this place far from enjoyable. Checking in was a nightmare, there was no sign of the promised internet access, towels seemed scarce. Otherthanthat...

The facilities are good, the manager very kind and helpful, the staff also. The location is good as well. The problem i had here is that a women that work inside shouts from 6 am and really doesnt let you sleep. Even if i asked her, next day was same story. She really have to learn about customer services. They also painted inside the room while we were out, then when we came back at night, the smell was toxic and we had to sleep with it. Good they paint, bad the moment. Problems w hot water.
