Really cool place. Friendly community atmosphere. Ian is really helpful, picked me up from the I site and also helped me sort out my way to the tongariro crossing! Great hostel to organise your trip there.

Great place to stay, the owners were lovely, and the place was really cool and tidy. We will definitely be back next time we need somewhere to stay on a trip from Auckland to Wellington!

Great staff. Liz and Ian are fantastic hosts. Extremely comfortable beds and convenient kitchen with lots of dishes. Easy to meet other travelers and get trip advice.

Bit weird. I wouldn't recommend. It was really far from the town and I didn't really feel safe walking around by myself. The guy that ran the hostel kept his dog tied up on a leash all day and then locked her in the garage at night so she cried all day and all night. He also fed her cat food. Also, I booked on hostelworld.com so paid the deposit but he guilted me into paying the full price up front by saying he gave me cheap wireless - even though he didn't.
