Hostelworld guests have said they appreciate that J-Hoppers Kyoto Guest House is 'just a 5 minute walk away from the Kyoto Station where people can easily connect to major Kyoto attractions and trains to other cities'. This friendly, clean hostel features free parking for motorcycles and bikes, free Wi-Fi throughout as well as free games and kimono dress-up. Each of the large beds in the comfortable dorms includes privacy curtains, personal reading lights, shelves and room for luggage.

J-Hoppers Kyoto Guest House is a small homely hostel located in a convenient location, 8 minute walk from JR Kyoto station. Everything you need as follows is accessible within 3 minute walk; convenience store, supermarket, 100 yen shop, ATM, post office, izakaya (Japanese bar) and restaurant.
To the bus stop for Kiyomizu-temple, Gion, the downtown area, Imperial Palace and Nijo Castle is 1 minute walk. We sell One day bus pass which makes your sightseeing easier at the front desk.
Each of our staff members will help you with warm hospitality. Please relax and stay as your home away from home. Our custom-made roomy bed is a compilation of knowledge that we acquired from 11 years of managing hostel.

Equipped with a quite large sized loft bed. Guests sleeping on the top use the loft and unlike ordinary bunk beds, you can keep all your luggage up on the top. Taking the bottom, you can sleep in an independent single bed under the loft. Each bed has a personal bed light, plug outlet and curtain. You can surf on your bed by WiFi. Safe lockers in all dorm rooms.

Toji Temple is just 15 minutes' walk from our hostel and has the highest wooden pagoda in Japan. I personally recommend visiting the Fushimi Inari Shrine. It's an important Shinto shrine in Kyoto and has trails leading into the wooded forest of sacred Mount Inari, which stands at 233 meters and belongs to the shrine grounds. At the back of the shrine's main grounds is the entrance to the torii gate covered hiking trail, which starts with two dense, parallel rows of gates called Senbon Torii ("thousands of torii gates"). The torii gates along the entire trail are donations by individuals and companies.

Liked the privacy that the curtains to my dorm bunk gives me, making the 8 bed dorm room more value for money. There were many essential backpacker items provided by the front desk, and also hair dryers, which was awesome. The staff were very friendly too! They actually recognised my luggage & helped me move it to the other dorm. The only drawback would be climbing stairs in order to get to the shower room, and also the sink at the toilets are impossible to brush teeth in, coz it is too narrow

the staff seemed as if they couldn't be bothered to do anything for you while you were there.... took a good five minutes for anyone to show up at the counter during check-in, the building is five or six floors full of bunk beds... facilities and rooms perfectly fine for the budget traveller, location convenient to the train though being south of the station is a bit annoying when you first have to get there

cancellation fee of one night's stay will be charged. Cancellations made
with two days or more advanced notice will not be charged.

For groups of more than 5 people, we may require additional condition when you make a reservation request.
--Reception Hours and Check In Time--
*Our reception is open from 8:00 to 14:00 and 15:00 to 22:00 (check-in time is from 15:00 to 22:00)
*If you would arrive out of our reception hours, please let us know in advance. We will tell you how to enter the hostel and further information
*Luggage storage is available for FREE even before check-in and after check-out.
*Even before 15:00, you can use all hostel facilities except guest rooms.
