Clean, comfy, nice staff, good wifi, lots of little touches like photos of guests on the walls and shampoo in the showers. Large dorm beds with privacy curtains and a nightstand shelf & light. A couple buses will take you to the Gion neighborhood; otherwise it's a 10-minute walk to the train station and a bus or train from there. Two 24-hour convenience stores nearby.

I really much enjoyed my stay at this hostel. The staff was so kind and helpful and I'd recommend this hostel to everyone as the location is great(just a 5min walk away from KyotoStation) and it's a clean, safe place. I had a really good time and would come back again if I was in Kyoto.

A recommended value for money backpacker house in Kyoto. You can buy Kyoto bus day pass in the hostel. Room is very clean and enjoyable. You can use the soap, shampoo and hair dryer with no charge. Unfortunately, I think they need to add some shower rooms, since it was full in the morning. Near to seven eleven and bus stop, but quite far from Kyoto Station. Generally, I enjoy staying with J-Hoppers Kyoto.

The staff is great. They're a bit laid-back, but well organized, and make you feel comfortable. The rooms are fairly spacious and very clean. The kitchen was not only quite large but a fantastic place to talk to others staying there.

I was surprise that they kept a space for top bunk beds to keep my luggage. This is the first I see in any hostel and it really help. Keep it up.

Great Stay for 2 nights in April. Close to the Train Station, directions easy to follow to get to the hostel from the train station. Would have been nice to stay longer! :)

Bunk bed was really comfortable and quilt was really warm despite it being very cold at night. Nice kitchen facilities and plenty of toilets and wash facilities. Very convenient to station just a few minutes walk and bus stop right outside which went directly to some of the main sites. I thought the price was really good.

'only' good for facilities because there is only shared bathroom and toilet. Anyway, the hotel is perfectly clean, and always a good atmosphere. Staff speaks english, very kind and helpful. J-Hoppers and Hana hostel seem to organize regularly some eenings where everyone is invited to eat together something coocked by staff inside the hotel. Very good moments. Truly good moments. Thanks !

Great value for a very comfortable place to stay. Staff is very friendly with strong English-speaking ability. There isn't much in the immediate area surrounding the hostel, but there is a subway stop 2 blocks away that gives you access to the rest of the city.

This place was just awesome. It's in a convenient location, so it's easy to walk to Kyoto station from there. There's a 7-Eleven and Lawson convenience store near the hostel, which was great when I wanted to get some food or drinks. Of course, there are also some eating places in the area if that's more preferable. The staff here were so nice and easy to talk to. It's also really safe. It's also great to meet other travellers. I travelled by myself, but I didn't feel alone while staying here!

I loved the set up of the dorm room. Each bed has curtains so you have privacy. There is a hole in the locker door so you can charge things by threading the wire through. Your valuables charge while they are safely locked up.
