I stayed for 3 nights. The hostel is good, prety clean, very good atmosphere. Breakfast and wifi includes. the bad thing is that is just next to de metro station, in the red light district, so there is a lot of junkys and homeless, maybe drunk too, but they are not dangerous, just ugly people.

Jackaroo is really good, from the nice smaller dorm sizes to it location on darlinghurst rd. nice roof top terrace, good tv room, dinning hall and free pool. Very late check out at 11am which is great. Free wifi and free pc use. Small kitchen however.

We stayed at double room and that was nice: comfy bed but the room was a little bit small. The common kitchen was clean and big and the staff was very helpful. There is a free breakfast (toast, cereals, coffee) and when we stayed there, there was free vine tasting :) Location is OK, perfect if you like to party.

I loved the place. From the moment I arrived I was greeted by the two owners who were working at reception and given a run down of the hostel facilities and events going on in the hostel. They have so many activities for the hostel guests to do and as the owners are from Sydney, they also let you know about all the things going on in the city, which was very helpful. The hostel itself is always clean and, to top it off.... you also get unlimited free Internet, WiFi and breakfast. Perfect!!!

This Jackaroo is awesome. An amazing way to start my trip. I was only there a few days, but i wish i could have stayed longer. The common areas are great, I met some really cool people and we had some awesome nights out thanks to Jono the entertainment manager. It was super clean and the staff were really friendly and helpful. It was really convenient to get around as its right next door to the train station. In saying that we walked to most places anyway. Will be back for sure,

Nice hostel with good facilities; however, all the so called free stuff, wine, BBQ, breakfast aren't really free. Business 101 - everything costs money and that cost is passed onto the customer. I'd much rather have a lower priced bed instead, and have the choice to pay for wine or BBQ night. A/C wasn't working for our entire stay. I don't think it's reasonable to have the lockers at basement reception instead of the rooms in a multi-storey, no elevator building.

The staff are excellent and the hostel is clean and in good order. The room felt quite poky - I stayed in a 4 bed but our air con was broken so it was extremely hot which obviously wouldn't have helped. I actually really enjoyed my stay there, the kitchen was small but I managed when it was less busy and at least it was very clean! I didn't like people coming in after drinking and rowing up on the stairwell and in the toilets but that is their fault not jackaroo's.

A lot of long stayers that made it hard for people just passing through to get involved. Plugs in lockers are a great idea.

We stayed here for 4 nights during mardi gras and had a great time in sydney. Hostel is very clea, and showers good. There were a lot of long stayers and the kitchen could get quite busy, but we still met lots of other backpackers.

Came in a little worried, but in the end everything was great. Also met some really cool roommates, which was the best part.
