One of the best hostels I stayed in during my trip to Australia. Clean, good bed, in-house bare that sells beer for normal prices, pick-up and drop-off in town and Greyhound bus stop.

The hostel is located in the middle of the rainforest so for me a 100% rating for location. It's a little bit further from town but there's a hourly free shuttle bus and fee bikes to bring you there. The owners of them hostel are really passionate and helpful. Make sure to be there on a Friday with FREE wine night as much as you can drink. Only little bit minor aspect were in my opinion the people staying there fort several months who tend to stick only together.

I loved this place! Once you arrive you will never want to leave. The hostel is in a rainforest and you feel like you are in a tropical paradise. There are large common areas and the bedrooms are big. The hostel overlooks a beautiful pool and they also have a giant outdoor cinema for movies. The best thing about this place though is the friendliness of the staff and their willingness to help you whenever they can. I loved it and really cant wait to go back!

After some bad experiences with different hostels, I just booked in at Jackaroo for only one night and regret it later on for not staying any longer, because that hostel belongs to one of the best I've stayed at. Everybody is really nice and friendly. They don't hesitate to help you with any kind of ploblems. I highly recommend this awesome hostel!

The hostel was kept to the highest cleanliness I've seen in hostels to date, the atmosphere was good was very relaxing and although it was a quite hostel there was still room to have fun and enjoy yourselves. The staff were very friendly and also put on a free wine night and a free BBQ night which helped the whole hostel get to know each other more. The facilities are good and to a high standard, and once the bar is completed it will have pretty much everything you need whilst in a hostel

We really enjoyed this hostel. We used the camping facilities and had great fun doing it even if it was a little hot. Staff were brilliant and I would defiantly recommend this hostel in future.

I stayed in a double private room. The windows can't be opened unless you want an army of mosquitoes to fly in. There are no fly screens. So I had a very uncomfortable sleep in a stuffy room with no air flowing. Also there's no escaping noisy party people, because all the rooms circle the central entertainment area. Great if you are very young and in for a big night. The room hadn't been cleaned properly for some time. Good female bathrooms though.

We had a lovely relaxing stay at Jackaroo. The hostel is in a beautiful location. Although it is a little way from Mission Beach, there is a regular shuttle bus or free cycle hire. The staff were friendly and took us to Josephine waterfalls one afternoon which were beautiful. The best hostel we have stayed at in all Australia and would definitely go back!

I wish i could have stayed longer. After travelling the east coast, this was by far the best place i had been. It was so good to stop and chill out for a few days. The place is so clean and the staff are super nice. They make u feel at home and are very helpful with everything. They even took a group of us to Josephine waterfalls, for the day. Itswas so cool being surrounded by the rainforest, and just chilling out in the pool. If you go to mission beach, stay here for sure.

absolutely fabulous! the best hostel i've ever been to! i've planned to stay 2 nights and extended to 7! the hostel is located in the middle of a beautiful rainforest (shuttle bus-enough possibilities to get into town), there are huge living and social areas and an awesome pool... the staff is amazing, felt like a part of the family! don't miss free wine-friday, free bbq-sunday or the movie-nights on the big screen. i'd definitely come back! thanks, guys!! :)

Beautiful and romantic location in the middle of the rainforest. But difficult to get there without car. Rooms were small but clean. Nice pool with view to the rainforest.

The beds are all dirty, there are no moskitonets so we were biten all over the body the whole night and there were so many little animals walking over me and my bed during the night that it was hard to fall asleep!! There are only 2 toilets and showers for the WHOLE hostel.

Interesting hostel set right in the rainforest with amazing views and the best hostel pool I came across on my trip. Staff were really friendly and helpful. Only complaint is that it's a long way out of Mission Beach and shuttle bus times mean if you go into the town centre you have to spend a good few hours there waiting for the shuttle bus to pick you up again so felt a bit stranded at the hostel as there's not much in town to keep you occupied for hours.

Awesome hostel, unique character and setting in the rainforest but with handy shuttle bus to take you into town / to the beach. Lovely pool, outdoor cinema and huge kitchen and communal area. Staff really make you feel welcome, overall a fab stay, would definitely recommend!
