PROS: Located next door to Kings Cross station so you are in the heart of this neighbourhood & travelling around Sydney is easy to do. Free Internet, free bar-b-ques, free breakfast and free wine tasting. CONS: Layout of the hostel - The rooms are situated in a different part of the building so you have to go down loads of stairs in order to get to the kitchen & no lift. My room did not have a window so there was little ventilation & I found the smell of the cleaning products over bearing

Everything was fine, but one tends to become slightly claustrophobic with an underground common area and a room without window. Very welcoming, though, and comfy beds.

A great stay, the location wasn't great but the hostel itself was very well secure, free wifi which is very rare, the staff were great and the shower rooms, bathrooms and the cleanliness was second to none! Will not find a better hostel.

Jackaroo Hostel is awesome. Everyone is really friendly, the rooms look nice, and a lot of activities are organized such as a free wine night. One of the best hostels I've ever been to. The location isn't too good, there are lots of strange people on the street, luckily the train station isn't even 10 seconds away.

The kitchen was very clean. there was free wi fi internet in the room. The hostel is situated in Kings Cross, that is a "famous" neighborhood, where, especially in the night, there are some strange people but is not dangerous at all.

We arrived at 5am after having a horrendous greyhound journey and the bus breaking down twice. I rang the hostel at 5pm the previous afternoon and said we would be arriving later than we thought and would there be any access at this time. We were assured that they would leave a key in the bar next door - however this was not the case so we were left waiting outside for 3 hours - not happy Also the amount of stairs can be challenging!!

The Hostel was very nice. It's without a lift but the boy on the reception took my heavy suitcase up the stairs - very friendly. The breakfast was good and the location the best - party place and next to the Metro Station. I liked it to stay there and would stay there another time if I'll come back.

I had a lovely two nights here - the staff (and other guests too) were all really friendly and knew all about the city and how things are done so could give great advice. The area of kings cross is a but odd but it's within walking distance of everything you could want and having the train station right next door was brilliant. There were quite a few stairs and no lift but it was good exercise! Overall, I'd definitely go back if/when I'm in Sydney again.

Great place, excellent location, safe, clean, easy transportation, helpful staff. A special mention to Tom, at the front desk, always willing to help, with a quick answer to any question. Thanks!!!

Overall a nice hostel, clean and friendly staff, good location for the bars in Kings Cross and a short walk to oxford street. Main negative is that you every morning will hear the heavy doors to the the staircase slamming, you can hear them clearly through the dorm room door which isnt sound proof. So you probably will have to sleep with earplugs

This hostel was possibly the best we have stayed in so far!! The location is perfect, right next door to Kings Cross Station. On arrival we were informed we had been given a free upgrade from a dorm to a double which was an added bonus!! The kitchen seemed slightly small but was always spotless and never very busy. I would definitely recommend this hostel and would definitely stay here again. We couldn't fault it. Only negative would be that there is no lift but thats the building.

Jackaroo Hostel was amazing! Cleanliness is a big factor for me in deciding where to stay, and this hostel was clean. The staff was amazing too! Jade is such a sweetheart, and he's totally helpful if you have any questions. I like how there were different activities planned out for each day of the week, it makes meeting people very easy. Great kitchen, and common room...all in all it was an enjoyable stay for me :)

Right at busy Kings Cross Station and therefore very lively. Female Dorm without window- a bit shocking as it gets quite warm and stuffy - BUT - very clean, good beds, free wifi in very good quality. Special deals every day.

WE had a good experience at Jackaroo. The hostel is not in a great area, but it is walking distance to the main things to see in Sydney. Also, the free internet and breakfast are a big bonus!
