The staff is nice and helpfull, the neighborhood is OK. And thats all...... 2 showers were working for 24 beds. I got insulted by a guest for stupid reasons and the staff didnt do anything except to move me to another dorm, but of course they charged me the difference of price.... After 3 weeks traveling, its the only hostel where I didnt meet anybody, not even a "hello" from the guests... I wont never go back there. One of the worst hostel I've been to, and I've tried heaps..

I would not recommend this hostel to people I hate. Three showers for 50 guests offer scalding hot and frostbite cold water at random--if you can even find a shower that works. Tiny lockers offer no security and the staff is pretty much useless. If you should need to change rooms because you are being harassed, prepare to pay extra. If you are the type to stay out past sunset, prepare to defend yourself from homeless people and strip club patrons; both reside on the street.

Got the whole room by myself, lucky. This hostel got a socket on each bed and locker in the room with socket in each locker, too. So you can charge valuable mobile and laptop in the locker. Smart security instead of door key, convenient. Clean and tidy. Only that the blanket is too thin. And something need to be clear, not 24 hr reception as stated, so you need to be careful if arrive late. You need to get the door code to enter from the email they sent in advance. Also, breakfast is not free.

It was great that we could arrive before check-in time, because we had special pin-code. And on the last day after check-out too, we could prepare to our return journey. Thanks!

Sockets in the lockers and near beds are a BIG plus.

Average hostel. Staff are fine, but beware that they do not operate late as I found out the hard way, but I managed to get in anyway... They give you a code if you are late (check emails). Not much is happening with it, but they do like to post lots of signs everywhere...

Manager of the hostel didn't do his job professionally. He sent to me a booking confirmation on my e-mail with codes for entering in hostel and in to my room, because i was arriving late. When I arrived, I was surprised because he changed my room and bed, and together with those he changed entering codes for my room so that i couldn't enter in my room. Fortunately some guy was awake and he opened the door, but that isn't all, on my bed there was no sheet and covers.

It has quite comfortable and clean rooms. And also the staff was very helpful. Although the location of the hostel wasn't really the best but still it's not that far from the center, and besides there is a subway station just across the street. So, you wont have any transportation problem. As a result, it's totally worth to spend your money for staying in the Jack's hostel during your Vienna trip.

A bit away from the city center(you'll definitely need to use public transport eventually). Needs a bit more fun, better keep in mind to check back to hostel only to get a shower and some sleep, the city itself will be much more fun anyway. The amount and the content of the signs, "please make your bed properly or pay a 20€ fine" are not a nice touch, the power plugs in the lockers, are(everyone keeps saying that). Most importantly: thanks to all the staff members who saved my new year's eve.

First, LOVE the towel rack, coat hook, individual light, and in-locker charging! All facilities were very clean (if a little cold). Staff were beyond helpful: helping me with Austro-German phrases, where to find the nearest grocery store, and helping me book my ticket out of town! Only complaint: the common room is tiny! There's really no seating, and therefore no way to meet other hostelers! Other than that, I *highly* recommend!

Jack's Hostel was a big disappointment! One night someone threw up on the floor and we had to spend the rest of the night stepping over it because the hostel is unstaffed from 9pm-7am. When the staff was there, they were less than knowedgable. On multiple occasions they gave us misinformation. They sent us searching for a bus station that doesn't exist and to the wrong metro stop to catch our train to Prague.

Very secure place and friendly staff. The Kitchen is great and the common room is big enough for everyone. Easy to get to from train stations, but about a 20 min walk into the heart of the city.

This place had potential, was cute, cosy and detailed. Only minor complaint was that the floors (mainly bathrooms) could do with a decent scrub and bleach, as grime and grey dirt had built up on tiles, however I noticed there weren't good drains on the floor in the toilet nor shower area so it would be hard to scrub and hose regularly. There's a awesome pizza place 2ish blocks away to the North if you do decide to stay here. Really good!
