Jade is a wonderful place to stay if you're in Mexico City and want to get off the beaten track. Virginie and her family are extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms are very nicely decorated and quite comfortable and there's a nice little kitchen on the roof patio. The inn is located in a pleasant residential neighborhood with good restaurants, coffee shops and the like nearby. The San Cosme subway station and the Buenavista Metro-bus station are within walking-distance (about 15 minutes).

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Jade and Virginie and her family could not have been more welcoming and hospitable! The guest house and courtyard is even more beautiful and relaxing than the photos do justice and the rooftop kitchen/terrace was a bonus! We received a bi see full of maps and tourist pamphlets upon our arrival that were extremely helpful and Virginie provided so excellent advice about Mexico City and neighboring towns.

We had a very nice stay at Jade and enjoyed the lively neighbourhood. There's a great restaurant nearby (La Casa de Toño) a good breakfast place (OaxacAqui), a big indoor market and a large grocery store nearby. Our room was cleaned daily and Virginie was very friendly and helpful with suggestions of what to see in the city. It's a bit far to walk to the metro at night, but a taxi (at the 'sitio' stand) from San Cosme station is only around 20 pesos. We'd definitely recommend staying here.

Located in a colonial mansion in Mexico City, I found this place to be very charming and the atmosphere very mexican like. The neighbourhood is nice, in walking distance you can find a subway station and several buses, the owner will explain to you how to move around the hostel (they speak english, spanish and french), the room was very clean, there is a washing machine, a kitchen, a pool table (you'll have to ask) . A nice place to stay and very affordable !!

They do not change the bed sheets and barely make the bed. Despite being a 'guest'house, the door to the main house remains locked at all times and unless you take your laptop you'll probably not use the Internet. You may see the owners playing billiards and wish to do it too, but do not forget the main door will be probably locked, so would you feel comfortable and as a real guest at such a place? Regarding tours, they'll give you info behind schedule. Do not count on them!

Thank you for your input. I'm really sorry that you felt so badly about our service. I wish you would have mentioned your issues while being with us so we could have react. As specified on our property description, we change bedsheets every four days (you stayed 4 days) and the commune area do not include the main house and we offer free wifi. But we'll improve the cleaning as you require

This is the second time we stay at Jade and we loved it as much as the first time. The room is cute and quiet, very good bed, hot water and nicely decorated. The area is great to walk around, metro not that far and straight to the centro historico. We really recomend it, great value.
