We are a 50+ couple that stayed at Jaeger's in a 4-bunk dorm recently. Due to a conference in town, most hotels were booked and had doubled their price. Although Jaeger's prices rose too, it was still affordable. We were uncomfortable staying in a shared room, but it proved to be a positive experience. The staff strived to keep "older, quieter" people in our section of the hostel and we were pleasantly surprised by the nice people we met.

Everyone who worked at Jaeger's Munich was super friendly! They even give you a welcome shot when the bar opens!! Lots of fun people, we really enjoyed our stay. Also, we went walking around after we checked out and they let us keep our stuff in lockers while we went walking around, until we were done. Thanks again! :)

We were scared to stay at Jaegers after reading horror stories in the reviews, but we stayed there anyways because everywhere else was booked. The rooms ended up not being THAT bad. Granted, our beds were in the furthest corner of the room, so we didn't have to hear everyone come in. A lot of reviews complain that the music from the bar was really loud in the rooms, but it really wasn't. The staff was nice and helpful. Bathrooms smelled pretty bad, though, and we were too afraid to shower there

Very friendly, helpful staff. We asked about trains to the airport and got some great help. The twin room for my friend and i was really nice and clean. It felt like we were staying in a hotel, not a hostel. We paid a little for a twin room but were pleased with it.

Comparing Wombat and Jaeger's next door, Wombats was a better hostel as compared to Jaeger's. The ground floor was always crowded as people were always using the WiFi. There is also only limited sockets in the room and is based on a first come first serve basis.

Wifi didn't work in the rooms, the bathrooms were pretty gross even by hostel standards and the people at the front desk were not very warm. Aside from that, the location is nice, the pub has cheap drinks, and there are big storage lockers in the room to store your stuff (note that the locks as well as towels cost extra)

Nice and clean hostel with very good location close to the Munchen Haupbahnhof. They have a nice bar downstairs. Maybe that was the problem only of that day that I've stayed there but the wi-fi connection was awful.

Overall everything are nice and ok especially the location which is near to the Central Station. However, if there is wifi in the room will be great!

felt a bit ignored by the bar staff the odd time but nothing that dampened the spirits. the older guy behind reception (think the manager) had me standing at the counter for 5 mins while he helped one of the receptionists at a cpu. only bad thing i experienced.

Worst hostel I stayed at in Germany. I stayed at Wombats next store as well and it was much better. Even when I was staying in Jaegers I spent more time in Wombats and the other hostel nearby, Euro Youth. Better vibe, better staff. When I first got there I had to leave my bags in locker outside. Internet didn't work anywhere. Staff was rude when I brought my own beer into the place, the other hostels did not care. Hardly any plugs. My key didn't work after the first night, had to be reactivated.

It seemed silly that the laundry facility couldn't be used beyond 10pm considering the 40 bed dorm is under the bar. Someone doing laundry really wouldn't be noticed. Also, it would have been nice to know that I was going to be sleeping under a bar.

The bar normally became pretty bumpin towards the later part of the night. The problem was with the large dorm rooms. The room was hot and had squeaky floors. Also, the bathrooms were never really super clean. Great location right across from the train station and about 15 minute walk to Marienplatz.

I hardly slept, because the bed had the worst and oldest mattress ever, and made such loud sounds when one turned around that staying asleep was impossible. That was definitely the last time I stayed there.

40 person room was a total pain in the ass. With that size there is always somebody coming in or out, no matter what time. The floor boards aren't properly put down so you can hear every footstep, or at least you could if people weren't always snoring, talking, or playing music. In a room of that size, people naturally become inconsiderate. I moved next door to EuroYouth and the difference is night and day. The staff were alright, personable, the place is just rubbish.
