Only there for transit. My wife and I met some great people, however in sharing a 10 person dorm we came under some heavy drunkeness from other guests, including one guy who snored louder than you could believe. Easily the worst sleep we had in our 7 week holiday. However, we are aware the quality of guests make up the quality of the stay. In this case it was a poor experience. In addition, the internet was terrible and neighbouring business' were very loud - unavoidable with open windows.
No kitchen however everything else pretty good. Great staff !!!
Very nice place, atmosphere over there is great. My only complain over the place are lockers inside the rooms and cleanliness in common areas but beside those two facts it is a great place to stay

Less than a couple of hundred meters from the train station. Rooms were clean and well maintained about 10 minutes walk from the Hofbräuhaus so by no means staggering distance however the city has a great metro system so not concerning. Would certainly stay again.
Liked this place, it`s very central. Everything is perfect, but they dont have a kitchen.
Rooms were alright. Staff were helpful and it was close to the centre of Munich.
very nice hostel to stay in with great location to the train station.
It's nice that you have your own wall plug in the 10-bed dorm. There is only one bathroom (WC and shower in the same room) for 10 people, so you often have to wait for someone else. The free walking tour is nice, allthough it's probably better to go to the free tour at Wombats (it's in the same street). In the dorm you had your own wall plugs. I also slept in the 40-bed dorm. It's ok for one or two nights, but I don't recommend staying there longer.
The room was very hot and thus very difficult to sleep.
Great facilities, atmosphere - cant ask for more! Breakfast was expensive but other than that it was great.
The beds are terribly squaky and anytime someone moves at night everyone else wakes up. The bedroom was terribly hot. The windows of the bathroo in my room didnt close and all the neighbors from the surrounding buildings could see me there. The shower is the kind that you have to press every 5 seconds, which means you have to shower with only 1 hand while using the other to guarantee a flow of water. There was left over rotting food on the table the whole 4 days I was there. Won't stay again.
Good place but a great mess due to the people who leave there stuff everywhere and kind of dirty!
I've stayed here twice now. The first time was mediocre, the second time sort of sucked. The bar upstairs was obnoxiously loud with people stomping and singing and it took me over an hour to fall asleep every night even though I was so tired. The bathroom was pretty dirty. If you're going to munich do yourself a favor and book at wombats far in advance. People stay at jaegers when wombats and euro youth hostel get full, and they fill up fast.
We stayed in the 40 bed dorm and it was fine. Only issue is the lack of privacy in the showers especially as people need to walk through these to use the toilet. Could only use WiFi in the common room and was slow when lots of people on it. Over all good hostel brilliant staff.
We booked an 8dorm bedroom. The bathroom was very dirty, there was a leak in the shower, besides it was actually expensive and not comfortable.
I have stayed in the 40-bed room, for one night. The beds and the sheets were good. The lockers look easy to break, but fortunately I did not have any trouble with security. Despite the room have 40 people, it wasn't noisy. The WC was a bit small and dirty. The best of this hostel is its location, really close to the Hauptbahnhof. But, at the same time, it was possible to see some strange people around. Overall it was a good deal. I'd recommend for 1-2 nights.

Top place well located and a good place to meet people.
Great sociable hostel with friendly staff and near the train station.
WiFi doesn't reach the dorms in the basement and is very spotty even in the lobby. Also the dorms are not air conditioned.
