Great location and friendly atmosphere, particularly with the bar on the ground floor. Only downside was the poor bathroom facilities. Mixed gender WC in between two 40 bed dorms was unpleasant and the female showers were 4 cubicles without curtains, only a large glass door in front of them all. Problematic for some. Wifi connection in the communal area was very reliable but none in the dorms.

40 bedroom dorm- not fun. Sketchy area. No soap in bathrooms.. etc..

You won't have a bad time here. It's actually a pretty nice place. It's big and there's a lot of travellers coming in and out. I guess that's the fun thing about this place too - you meet a lot of people. For the price and location you really can't go wrong here. Just remember that if you're staying in the big bed dorms, there's really no privacy. But who needs privacy when you're travelling, right?

DO NOT STAY HERE. I just finished a 6 week trip throughout Europe and stayed at 15 different hostel of which this was BY FAR THE WORST. First of all the internet is so slow that it is unusable, as in, my 1999 dialup internet moved faster. I actually timed it once and I waited 12 minutes for one simple webpage to load (it was the Dachau homepage, it doesn't require much data). Secondly there is maybe a 50:1 person:outlet ratio so goodluck getting anything you need charged and none near beds.

Location was great, it was about a 3 minutes walk to the train station. Toilet could be cleaner, and I didn't like the totally open concept (transparent door for the shower cubicle). Wifi was slow, especially at night when more people are around, and it only works in the common area (which have limited charging point). Furthermore, you have keep logging in as it will log you out after a while. On a brighter note, it is really cheap, so you get what you pay for I guess.

Bad security, Dorms loud, unclean, smelly. Very expensive for what you get

The hostel is in a great location and very easy to find with the directions given. The downstairs area is very nice and the rooms aren't bad either. The breakfast is okay but not worth the money you spend on it. I would eat somewhere else. Otherwise great hostel.

Average place for the price it wasn't to bad, the bar area was nice and breakfast was good and worth it's money. bathrooms were pretty horrible, like they hadn't been cleaned in ages. Other then that if wasn't bad, but I'm sure there is better..

The location is good and most of the staff friendly, but the hostel stank constantly and could hardly be considered clean. I would further recommend changing the stops on the doors so that they did not constantly slam.

5 minutes away from Munich main train station by walk. Really hugeee hostel. 40 bed dorm under ground feels like entering bunker but nice 1. Bring your own locks to use lockers. 40 bed dorm wasn't really noisy at night. Hostel allows guests up to 35 years age so beware if your age is more than 35. Bar is nice. Home brewed beer was good for 3 euro. The talkative English bartender was friendly. Breakfast looked awesome but was in hurry couldn't have it. Specious common room. No supermarket nearby

It was a great Hotel, clean and comfortable. The only things they have to improve is the state of the lockers in the dorms since most of them don't close even with the padlocks.

The wifi connection was beyond bad upon my arrival, merely a decoration; however, it worked for a good while the next day when there were few people around. There's no bathroom shelves or soap holders, which is a great unconvinience.

Lively bar and clean modern facilities. Reminds you of a Wombats. Spitting distance from the station. Beds were a bit creaky so being quiet for people already asleep was a challenge, but that is to be expected in a hostel. To leave luggage behind during the day you had to use lockers, and if you didn't have a padlock you had to hire one. But it was only 1 euro.

Good Location, Facilities can be improved. Very poor WiFi. Average Staff. A few better hostel options nearby.

Jaeger's hostel is definitively a good deal if staying in München. It's super close to the train station and 10 minutes walk to Marienplatz and the city center. The buffet breakfast was the cheapest and also the best I had in my interrail trip (camembert cheese included). Personal in the reception were helpful and nice, and there was a spanish speaking receptionist, which was very handy. I chose a big dorm(40 beds) but it was clean and there were individual lockers. 9 out of 10.

There was a short guy who if didnt know any better had this typical hostel worker power tripping little man syndrome, thats ok if you can control this, but its not ok when you let this affect your customer service skills, becaus that's unprofessional. My big travel case didnt fit in the lockers and for a German run hostel the facilities were below average. Glad I was only booked for two nights. One of which I didnt use because thought it was a rubbish hostel.

The staff were unfriendly, inpatient and work over 12 hours a day as we observed. The location is great, just 3-minute walk to the haubanhof yet there're wired people who don't even stay at the hostel shouting at the bar makes the atmosphere unpleasant at all. Also there's smell of bathroom and totally humid. The worst of all, wifi isn't working properly everywhere!!! I have to log in to the portal every 5 minutes!

Great hostel to stay in Munich.

the hostel was good for the price ! but I think it's not the best place to be if u wanna meet people as there are lots of Young stupid people coming by groups of 30-40 who just destroy all the nice atmosphere!! (most big groups of travelers come to this hostel, since it's huge and cheap) just because of that, I don't think i will come again! (also the night staff wasn't really friendly, but now I understand when I see what kind of people he has to deal with every nights)
