- On our second (and last) day there was nobody there to serve breakfast, so we had to leave without - It was quite untidy - The bathroom had no key to lock the door
Really nice place. Would love to come back again. And when we told Urška that we had a train to catch at about 1 am he offered to drive us to the train station in the area. One thing though, they really need locks in the bathroom/toilets. Would love to return again.

The only thing good about this hostel is Milan the guy who runs it and helps you organise where you need to be etc. There is no kitchen, the bathroom were tiny and did not get cleaned the whole time we were there and we had to constantly ask for toilet paper. I could go on but do yourself a favour pay 5 euro extra and stay in town in a decent hostel. SORRY MILAN.
The manager was extremely helpful and kind and it was great getting a shuttle into Bled and back since it was a while from the hostel. The room was completely different to what we were expecting but not in a bad way. We booked for a 12 bed dorm and ended up in a room for three in the bottom of someone's house and didn't even see the other occupants. The free breakfast was a nice surprise too.
As soon as we arrived we were made to feel like family. Mico is an awesome host! The pizzeria has arguably the best pizza in the world! Katja, Dare, Romane, Marusca, Matiz, Luka, Tina from the pizzeria and all the other locals were soooo much fun! We cried when we had to leave. I consider it a secret fishing hole.

Really lovely area but far from Bled itself. The hostel owners drive a minivan into and from town every day but if you miss those timings you need to get a taxi (about a 15 minute drive). Beautiful area, helpful staff. Nice common areas
The hostel is made by staff member Milan! A great guy who will drive you to the Lake/station each day and back, and genuinely cares about and knows each guest. He bought my friend chocolate and wine on her birthday he was that nice. I would recommend this hostel for him alone. The location is far out from the lake but the free shuttle and view of the slovenian-austrian alps makes up for this. I would recommend this hostel & attached pizzeria, but there is NO pool or currency exchange??
Loved staying here, average location rating because the house is about a 5 minute drive from the lake.. However the owner was fantastic, he ran shuttles throughout the day. You can also book outdoor activities at the hostel, and it's right next to a great pizza restaurant.. Which you may get sick of, but who cares. Brilliant atmosphere, friendly vibes and I can't wait to go back! Loved it. Could write an essay about my time there.
Location isn't great but there is a free shuttle from the train and to lake bled. The guy that runs the hostel is so flexible that it doesn't effect your trip at all - in fact it was a nice change. If you want to party tho do t stay here. ( lake bled is not really a party destination anyway )
Milan is our hero. He picked us up at the trainstation and made a schedule of everyones activities for the day and the next day so he could bring you to your activity in time. Also we got really sick and the next morning he showed up with tea and some pills to get us through the day. Also everything else about the hostel was perfect, we would reccomend Jackelj to everyone. Thanks Milan!!!
Brilliant hostel, the staff were very friendly and gave free shuttle rides to the lake. Atmosphere was great, everyone is really friendly and lots to do.
This may not be the flashiest hostel in Europe but it still offers good accommodation. The real reason for staying here though is manager Milan. Milan is without a doubt the most energetic and friendly hostel manager I have ever come across. He truly goes out of his way to ensure you make the most of your stay in the Lake Bled area. Thanks Milan, you're worth your weight in gold!
Such amazing staff, they were so incredibly helpful and went out of their way to ensure we had a good stay. Would definitely come back. Great pizza restaraunt round the back too. Really nice stay.
This is a great hostel! Originally I thought it was going to be a huge hassle going to places given that the hostel is located such a distance away from Lake Bled, however Niko and Milan are very enthusiastic and friendly people and they will drive us to and fro the lake area at our requested timings. Bicycles are available FOC. Also, the free breakfast prepared by Mama is delicious! The Karavanke mountain ranges are located very close by, and the scenery from the top is amazing on a good day!
The hostel itself is good, facilities all standard the only negative is lack of kitchen. However the real quality of this hostel lies in the owner. Nik was accomodating and went out of his way to help. He even dropped a group of us to the station early on a Sunday morning. He picked us up from the lake everyday at 7 and breakfast was delicious! Felt safe and had a family type atmosphere.
I Loved it! Niko the owner is such a nice guy he gave us a lift to and from the train station and printed out our boarding passes for our flight home. The hostel is about 5km from the lake but I preferred this location than right on the lake as the view is beautiful and there is a free shuttle to and from the lake each day as well as bikes which are a bit dodgy but free so i can't complain. There is a small safe where you can put your valuables but the place seems pretty safe on the whole.
