Very friendly owner & co owner - laid back feeling with no stress but still you can ask and get good service. Newly renovated living quarters, excellent location but not so much noice as in Jonker Street. Cant come up with anything that was unsatisfactory about JalanJalan Besi.

i stayed on the new side - it was very clean and had a great sitting lounge where you could relax and chat with other guests. For the money I paid, I was more than satisfied. great location too.

Lovely little hostel with a very family atmosphere, Alan gets everybody to intoduce themselves so you all get to know the other guests. In the heart of China town and so many good food places near by. great place to meet other travellers and have free wifi and computers. it has loads of character and everybody is so welcoming.

My girlfriend and I felt very much at home here. The double room was large, clean and the en-suite was a great feature, giving us privacy. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

The accommodation was fine. But during my last night, the toilet suddenly malfunction. It caused a little bit inconvenient. But it's no big deal. I believe Sam will solve it asap. Sam is a nice person although only on my last day i met him.

Sam+staff=friendly+helpful. Sam has a great sense of humour! Signs 'Close the fucking gate...' etc could seem rude but when you get to know Sam you smile. Enjoyed my first 4 nights so much that I stayed another 4. There is two Jalan-Jalan, one has the reception the other one is the one I can comment on. Great! Clean! You become part of the life along the calm street. The black-smith, the people in the temples, small food-places. One block from the river, one from Jonker Walk. Perfect location!
