I have not a single bad word to say about this hostel! It's insanely cheap and has possibly the best and most chilled atmosphere of any hostel I've been in. Lee really makes the hostel like your mini family for however long you're staying in Melaka, he shows you amazing local places to eat and drink so you really get a sense of what Melaka is about. Wifi good, beds comfy, toilets/showers clean what more do you need? Book it.

YES. I have been hostel-ing for 9 years & my stay at Jalan-Jalan was one of the loveliest. The hostel is both charming & a bit dingy, 'shabby chic' if you will, w/ excellent value for private rooms w/ fan & mossie net. Strong WIFI, hot water. But that's not the highlight - it's the social atmosphere. LOVED Lee's 'Dinner Club' - 1st night, went to a night market with the whole hostel. Immediately welcoming & friendly place - they really make a point to build community here. WOULD DEF. RECOMMEND.

Jalan jalan was a great hostel for meeting people. Everyone was friendly and welcoming and the staff want everyone to get involved. There's a dinner club where Lee arranges everyone to go out for meals together. Malacca is a lovely city, would recommend

Great hostel right in the middle of KL, within walking distance of all the things to see, and real close to a monorail station. Staff great, atmosphere was top, clean and security can't be knocked. Would definitely stay again

Absolutely loved my stay at jalan jalan, in all the time I've been travelling I haven't stayed in a hostel with such a good atmosphere and togetherness! Dinner club is such a good idea and a great way to meet people, will definitely be recommending jalan jalan to others :)

We had a wonderful time at Jalan-Jalan and would have loved to have stayed for longer. There was a friendly welcoming atmosphere from the moment we arrived. The staff were helpful and we especially liked the dinner club idea which united everyone staying at the hostel. The dorm room was clean with all the essentIal things for a comfy stay. Great value for money too. Thank you for helping make our stay in Melaka a memorable one.

This place is the best kept secret! Went to stay 2 nights ended up staying a week. Everyone who booked in extended their stay. Great people, awesome environment, clean facilities. Couldnt recommend this place more.

Very nice hostel in the center of the old town. Lots of places to eat and shop near by. Private room needs a new mosquito net, but luckily we had our own with us. Room has a fan, but it's still a bit hot to sleep, you get used to it after a few nights. Staff is doing a great job at the hostel. We recommend the hostel for everyone! P.s. Thanks Lee, you made it even better!

Had a wonderful 2 night stay here, hostel is lovely, and staff are very nice and helpful. On the weekends, Jonker Street (nearby hostel) is closed for a huge local market which is worth staying. Would definitely recommend to all travellers :)

A fantastic place to stay, highly recommended. The guy who owns the place is great, very helpful and friendly. Each bed comes with its own fan, so even during the hot nights you are cool. There is a cool little garden to hang out or a small common room if you want to watch movies. Plus free tea and coffee is always good! If you visit Malacca and want to affordable fun hostel to stay, this is the place for you :)

Extreme basic hostel! To me, 80% is way over rated. The owner is really friendly and helpful but facilities are basic and the building is quite old. (Situated in the unesco protected area). There's a muslim mosque just in front of the hostel, so every morning 5 am you'll be waking up by it.

I was happily surprised by the high standards of the hostel for the price paid for a bed in the dorm. Keep up the good work Jalan Jalan.

Really hot room, thousands of mosquitos and a mosquito net with loads of holes in it, in the morning we had the smell of the small restaurant next to the hostel in our room, which was not always a good one, we had windows but you could close them properly; but the location was good, the price ok and the staff friendly
