Dar s just a city forntasnitnto and from Arusha and Zanzibar. It wasn't much of a fun city to visit, but we were happy to be staying at the Jambo Inn where there was a fine restaurant and great staff to help us. When I arrived earlier than check in they held on to my belongings sonimcould explorer town and let me into an empty room so I could quickly shower and freshen up.

Jambo Inn is a convenient stop over in Dar es Salaam, its near bus ticket offices (but about 20 mins drive from bus station). Electricity was on/off - common to Tanzania - which meant 250 menu items reduced to about 5 items - but servings are big! Staff are helpful, but you have to pay for wi-fi and air conditioning is a must during hot weather which Jambo Inn has..

Very nice staff, although probably no exception for Tanzania. Too bad it was waaay to hot to sleep that particular night, but the shower was good enough to cool off. The fan in my room looked like it was put together with tape, although this was not the case, it was still dangling a lot and making a racket.

I'd thoroughly recommend Jambo Inn to anyone who needs to stay in Dar from a few nights to a few months. Great value for money, and the manager provides excellent customer service. Perhaps the best thing about Jambo Inn is the restaurant on the ground floor, which makes some of the best India food I've had in a while!

Fantastic, couldn't have asked for more for the price. Most importantly, the staff were extremely helpful. Dina in particular was great as she gave me some very specific info on daladala (bus) routes straight off the top of her head. I felt very comfortable and secure at Jambo Inn, and would reccommend the place to everyone visiting Dar Es Salam.

This place is ok for just one night. We had a large room with ceiling fan and balcony. The airco did not work and the shower was very poor. Staff was friendly and joined us to the bank since it was night and seems not to be too save when you are tourists. They do not serve alcohol (becouse of moslim culture) but staff went out with us to buy some beers (We travelled for 7 hours in a bus). What is nice, is that it is very close to the harbour, to take the ferry to Zanzibar.

Jambo Inn is a good place to stay in Dar es Salam if you are on a budget. It is central and near to the ferry for Zanziba and just up the rd (100m) you can catch luxery buses(not the main terminal) They charge very high prices for a cup of coffee so beware. But there are plenty of other cafes near by. I missed breakfast (jetlag) but heard it was very basic. The staff were very helpful and honest. I left my sunglasses on a wall by the hotel and they were handed in to the office and returned to me

The hotel is a nice budget place to stay in Dar. Great location in the center, helpful staff, great restaurant with indian food in the ground floor. Some rooms have problems with sanitary equipment, but overall impression is good and the place is worth its price.

It is basic and clean, very well located. Within walking distance to anywhere in the city center. Plenty of taxis at the door, costing no more than 15000ts to airport or ubungu bus station. 2000ts anywhere in city center.

We had a totally wonderful experience at Jambo Inn. Exceptionally helpful staff who were friendly and efficient. Each room is well equipped and the hostel has many of the facilities (Internet, restaurant and luggage storage) that other hostels lack. I would highly recommend.

A bed in the middle of an ocean, blue skys dotted with summer white clouds, in the distance tropical islets. A light breeze from a fan. It's a nice change from the usual boring white washed walls in other similar establisments. Friendly staff, wifi in the room. Could not try the kitchen as it was closed due to ramadam. A recommended place for a couple of nights.

A decent hotel. The room was adequate and clean but there was rarely hot water during the three days we were there. The free breakfast is pretty average compared to other hostels in Tanzania. The manager (or owner) was extremely nice and helpful with all our questions.
