Overall a good place. Clean, quiet, good location, friendly staff, good facilities. Only downside was the fan in the room did not reach the top beds, only those below. The "hang out room" seemed pretty spacious and I think you would be able to meet some people there, but I dont know as I arrived late and moved on first thing in the morning.

It‘s a GREAT spot to rest while enjoying your vacation.it's near down town so you can get any area in Xi'an very conveniently,but at the same time,it's incredibly quiet,when I got in the room,it just feel like a cabin in the country.More importantly,the landlady and clerks are very friendly.Anyway,it's an excellent hotel,if you come to Xi'an,this hotel will make your money worth it.

Best location（near to city wall,bell tower），Chinese traditional style hostel,beautiful and friendly boss,uh.....the most charming part is you can get discounted beer from Belguim Bar.

Jano's Backpackers is a nice hostel with a romatic story about itself.I stayed there just for one night with my classmate but we both love it.Chinese traditional style(which is not easy to be found now),very friendly staff,clean rooms,talktive roomate from German ,and location is perfect,just 5 mins walk to city wall,10mins walk to Bell Tower and Dram Twoer,bus No.603 to train staion just 15mins,the bar at the second floor offers good beer(for guests you can get discounted)we enjoyed our stay.

I can totally recommend this hostel!! I stayed here for 3 (!) months and for me it was the best hostel in Xi'an. I tried most of the other hostels, but non of them has such a good value for money. The private rooms upstairs look like ancient chinese rooms, so they're still beautiful! There was always at least one person who could speak good english and who helped me with any problems. Its located close to the south gate, so you can reach all tourist attractions within 10-15min walking.

Jano's Backpackers Hostel is better suited to Chinese travelers than foreigners. The staff were not helpful when we asked for directions and recommendations. They basically ignored us. There are not many restaurants in the area, especially for breakfast. We stayed the first night in a Kang room, which is in the basement with no windows. The bed was plenty big for two people. The common showers were atrocious because they were not clean or private. The bar next door is loud in the rooms.

The staff did not enforce the rules in the hostel, such as "no smoking" inside. So it was gross because people were smoking and it left an unpleasant odour. It had little atmosphere or character as there was no real common area to hang out in. Also, no breakfast or anywhere to sit down and have a drink really.

Nice hostel, low interaction between guests. Frustrated that staff came into my dormitory in the middle of the night and turned on all the lights so someone could check in.

I really enjoyed my stay at Jano's - especially the heater! Thanks to Michael for organizing everything so perfectly for me! And to Ashley for taking me to the show!

A fantastic place to stay. The private room was immaculate and full of character with a balcony over looking the wall which we didn't expect. There was some work going on in the place next door but that's just bad luck. It is situated right buy the south entrance and in the Chinese traditional market area which was gorgeous. The staff were really helpful and booked all the trips we needed. I would recommend others to go there.

We loved this place! It was recommended by a friend. it is in a beautiful location right by the wall. It has lots of character. We stayed in a private ensuite room. It was really nice. The beds were a little hard, but most beds in China are hard. The staff was friendly and helpful in giving us ideas of what to do and how to best get places.

Wow, I love the decor here. The only way it could be better is if there is a terra cotta warrior standing guard outside my room. This has to be the best decorated hostel I've ever stayed at. The decor here is worthy of Vegas. The hostel is literally one block from the city wall (yeah, Xian has a complete city wall, you can even do a circle bicycle tour on it, how cool is that?) As for service, it was excellent. They sent someone to pick me up from the train station early in the morning.

The staff were amazing - so helpful and willing to help, and always smiling. The location was near to the Drum and Bell tower, and the South Gate to the City wall. All members were willing to help you if you had any questions, or you wanted to arrange a tour - like of the Terracotta Warriors!

Great hostel, very friendly staff and a central location in Xi'an. Really feels like home. Clean and comfortable rooms for a good price. Had a very pleasant stay and I am sure I come back here.

location is good, near South Gate and walk around 10 mins to go Drum Bell. We stay in Room 209, excellent and big room, provide heat machine and comfortable to stay three nights. I will stay again next time. Nice staffs. 整體房間很滿意 , 有大廳, 也有暖氣, 床也很舒服, 旅舍很接近南門, 交通方便, 附近有24小時的餐廳, 走路去鐘鼓樓只是十分鐘, 下一次還會入住,. 工作人員好有禮貌, 特別是前台的一位男生, 很可惜只逗留4天未能有時間參觀漢陽陵, 不過美中不足是沒有人收拾房間
