It would be nice if this hostel had more of a common area for travelers to lounge. This hostel also did not provide any additional information on the city as most places do. It would have been nice to get a map of the city at the very least. We got lucky and accidentally went into the wrong hostel that gave us a map. Otherwise, we would have no idea where any of the sites were located.

For the hostel budget, I think it is very worth. The place is clean, the staff is very friendly and helpful because you can ask them anything and they will try their level best to help. They staff also have very good English and I have great time chatting with them.

Situated on beautiful Calligraphy street, Jano's is very tastefully decorated and can be reached by local buses from Xian station. The private ensuite double room was large and very nice, though it looked out into a brick wall. Not much of a fun hostel atmosphere though, as the basement common room is spartan, dark, and deserted (and kinda creepy). No wifi in the more expensive private room upstairs, and the beds are the hardest I've ever encountered in my life (and I usually like hard beds!!)

Comically hard beds. Even the Japanese use a futon on top of the tatami mats. In China apparently not. I\'m all for the local experience, but if I wanted to sleep on a hard floor I\'d do that at home for fun, not when I\'m travelling.

This hostel does not have a bar or cafe. They are next to a bar, it does not provide the comfortable hostel bar atmosphere I am used to. The staff was amazing though especially Xiao Yung. The bathrooms were extremely nice for China and didn\'t smell bad.

I've had hard beds in China before, but these were in a class of their own. Think of a sheet of plywood with a towel draped over it- that's how hard your matress will be. No bar or gathering areas, so don't expect to meet new friends. And the communal showers are weird. Still, cheap, clean, well decorated and furnished. Not a bad choice, but not the best either.

The hostel is quite convinient located, so either arriving from airport or train is quite easy. It has quite a good atmosphere, at night beacuse of the full of pubs street where is placed, so after a tourist day I appreciate it! Anyway, it´s also true that the beds are the hardest i had ever sleep in and it could be some more bathroom facilities, but in general is quite ok place.

The staff was very nice and helpful. But the dorm rooms are without window, which I didn't like. Beds were very hard, but we asked for a second blanket, so it was a bit better. There was only one toilet for the ladies, which was at rush hour times not enough. A room without window and no real common room (it's the bar, but basically has nothing to do with the hostel and it's rather expensive) to hang out, made the stay kind of uncomfortable. Could be at least cheaper than other hostels..
