Excellent traditional style ryokan. Would definitely recommend.

This ryokan was authentic: tatami mats, futon, shared bath with hot tub. There is a beautiful courtyard if you are lucky enough to get a room with a view. The building is old, but clean. My room smelled a little, and the pillow was made of beans. There also was no WiFi, and I had a hard time converting the language on the computer to English, only because I never have to do this. The bath, was just that - a bath - very little "atmosphere" or ambiance. The staff was very friendly.

This is a lovely old ryokan in a good location, the staff are friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and light with tv, fridge, table, dressing table and mirror. It has bags of character and a lovely courtyard garden.

This hotel had a lot of character for the money. I really enjoyed my room and the staff was helpful. I would definitely stay there again. The location is good too - not right in the middle of the busy area, but within walking distance. it was a little difficult to find because the streets were a little convoluted but once I found it, it was worth the effort.

It was a lovely place, a good way to experience a Japanese-style hotel without paying too much. Great location too, right next to Gion Station and in walking distance of a beautiful temple full of cherry blossoms and a pagoda. The only thing people might get worried about is that they don't have a place to lock up luggage and no elevator to help take luggage to rooms, but it wasn't a problem for us. I highly recommend the breakfast too!

A very nice looking, large ryokan. It was pleasant and the people working were helpful. Our lights did switch off twice in a three day stay, but it only took about one minute to get them switch back on. Very beautiful building and garden.
