As we understood it the hotel owner has big plans for the hotel which sounds good. For the price it was OK but with some more work on the place it will be very nice. The food was good and tasty once you got it, which could take some time: 1-1.5 hrs. But if you planned your meals in good time it was often worth waiting fore. We would have appriciated an air conditioner in the rooms but it was, again, OK with the fan. We could definitely recommend this little hotel on the east coast of Zanzibar!

The staff were extremely welcoming and the owner, Rachel, was extremely helpful. The food was exceptional!! Breakfast was included and dinner were reasonably priced (£6ish). The room was nice and clean, fairly basic although everything you need. The location next to the beach is wonderful and the restaurant overlooking the beach and the sea made it a spectacular place to eat...paradise personified! The only downside is having to get from the airport or the port to the hotel is a bit of a trek.

The hotel is largely as described. We enjoyed a very pleasant stay; the good food and the location. Everyone else there enjoyed it too. For context, we travel a lot and avoid packages and corporate hotels.
