The good things were that you get free towels and breakfast. Some staff members were quiet friendly and helpful. The negative points are that you have to pay for luggage storage. And we wanted to stay an additional night and they wanted more than double the price as we paid before (67 dollars for one night in a dorm!!!) The breakfast is also not very good.

Hostel was ok - Quite overpriced, but it is Manhattan. Close to the park and the Subway.

Bad - Room was very basic, dark and a bit cell like with just a bed, lumpy matress, chair and mirror. No evidence that the bathroom was cleaned while I was there. Internet access was expensive. Very noisy. Staff were grumpy. I didn't feel belongings were safe. As a female i didnt feel that safe walking around in the evening. Good - 3 blocks from subway and right next to the park with a 15 minute subway ride to time square. Free towel hire. Walking tours of the park.

When I arrived since it was raining I could not check in before 3 pm but when I was checking out, the staff girl was allowing other people to do the check in before 3 pm. I asked two times to the staff girl that the bed was not ready (not cleaned) but after a few hours I just opened my sleeping bag and with no sheets.

i was dissapointed my staying in the hostel. The room was small it was hard to move and i think the shower part was the worst- not space and water was cold.

The hostel is fine, staff is very helpfull but the location is not good. It is very far away from everything; near the subway though. Rooms and bathrooms could be cleaner. Sometimes there is no hot water. They told me to wait about 15-20 minutes with the water running to get hot water... total waste. Breakfast is just bread and cereal and in the dinner there is always bad smell like burned coffe 24/7. There is no wifi in the bedrooms and they charge you 2 USD to use the computer for 20 minutes.

I only have one thing to complain: it doesn't have elevators... only stairs.

The Hostel is amazing! Unfortunately I stayed for just 3 days, but I had an excelent time! There is always someone to help you, the breakfast is good enough for a hostel, they even sell drinks and sandwiches at the kitchen! I loved! Is just 3 blocks from the subway, The room is good, is always clean, they have towels to borrow. When I back to New York I will absolutely stay there again!

The best hostel I've stayed at so far. It's a tad bit more expensive than other hostels, but you get what you pay for in terms of the scenic location (right next to central park), facilities, security and cleanliness. I loved the bathroom, it was so clean. Definitely recommend it.

Everything was good, however,I wanna say sth about curly hair receptionist. I don\'t think she likes her job. I\'m pretty sure that\'s the only problem this hostel got. very freak me out.

Having been in America for a month this was the last place we stayed and it was the most expensive and the poorest quality. We were very disappointed with the quality of the room and the facilities, the room was tiny and not exactly clean and the shared bathrooms were dirty, poorly maintained, shower curtains that don't actually cover the shower door, plus there was water all over the floor all the time. We paid half the price of this hostel to stay in top quality hotels and motels elsewhere.

I arrived and received a 6 bed dorm room, after 2 days they told me that they haven't 4 bed dorm rooms (which i booked in original). i got a refund, but this could happend a little bit earlier. the heating installation wasn't working, additional heater in the room was really loud. from all the 16 lockers in the room, only a few worked. luckely i brought my own locks, they were out of them anyways. dont forget your towel, they want your id. cleaning staff is doing bed every day - really nosy...

Really nice place for young travellers in NY. Was there on my home and felt very comfortable with the atmosphere. Really nice staff too. It\'s nothing fancy but defiantly great value for money

Safe neighborhood. Very clean rooms and bathrooms. Staff was friendly. Internet connection was unstable most of the time. Breakfast should be more diverse. Maybe you could offer more fruits, water (not from the tap), real butter and better bread.

Spent a really good time there! Most of the staff was helpful and friendly- the girls should put on a smile, tho'! The luggage storage needs an inprovement- they charge $4 per case just to leave it in an overloaded cubby or you have to carry your luggage down and up the stairs to store it! But still we recommend this hostel because all together everything was fine and we spent a great time there!

During my stay (29th February - 2nd March 2012), there were some residents talking and singing loudly outside of the hostel's pub between 1am - 5am, but the staff(s) on duty did not do anything about it. Further, the bed sheet in the room I stayed was very dirty, with some yellow brownish stain.

The staff was really nice and helpful- especially Jose. They offer a lot of activities, which where fun The breakfast was good- more than just toast and jam! But instead of producing a lot of waste eveyday while using plastic dishes, they should install a little kitchen to wash proper dishes! 5 floors but no elevator was a little annoying- especailly for those who need to change rooms during their stay! And please repair our heater- its to hot and noisy and you cant even switch it off!
