In general, the hostel was pretty good, but really really expensive. Also, the charge you some aditional taxes, near to 10/15 dollars per person. The location is good, but not enough for the prize. Same thing about the hostel in a general perspective.

When I first arrived in my room their were building construction supplies and tools such as a drill and tile cement all over the room as well as tiles on the floor that were missing. Eventually towards the evening the material was placed in a corner of the room, but it still remained unsightly, and I felt my room was going under a renovation while I was their, plus the smell from the tile cement was annoying. The free breakfast in the morning was pretty good their was plenty of Juice and cereal

The Hostel location isn`t bad, but it is a few blocks away from the subway, which made me feel a little wierd about coming back late at night alone. I did not feel unsafe on the street at anytime, but I would choose a hostel closer to the subway on a next trip.

Staff was great and helpful, rooms were sparse, but clean & neat. Bathrooms were so clean, hot water, towels. Other patrons were lovely, and even though I was in a mixed dorm with another guy who i didn't know, it worked out great. Brought my own lock for the lockers in the room, so security was an added plus! Breakfast... eggs, toast, cereal, coffee, oranges, ... perfect! I needed something in budget to be able to visit friends and this was perfect! I'll be back Jazz Hostel! Thank you!

The staff is terrible. The water used to make a Coffee is dirty. The breakfast is poor and available too late. The restroom is terrible.

hostel location is very good, but the staf is not so good. They have some good staff members, but the overall is really poor. I could back on this hostel just for price criteria.

This was the friendliest staff I've ever encountered. Bravo! However, the rooms were a little spartan, and the bathrooms were lacking in just about everything: handsoap, hooks in the shower room for towels/clothes, and I never did manage to get hot water. Some carpeting might reduce the echoes in the hallway. Location-wise: the UWS is kind of far from everything and a very quiet neighborhood, but if you're looking for some quiet in the city (and park accessibility) this is the place.

It was really noisy. The room are really smal, and the shower not so useful. But the bed was really confortable.

I had a bad experience at this hostel. Although the location and the staff are good, the hostel is expensive for what it offers. The room and bathroom are not clean. Also, there is so much noise in the rooms. The cleaning ladies make a lot of noise during the morning (talking to each other and listening to the radio) and you can also hear what people talk downstairs. The hostel is not fun at all. The common area is not good to know other people. I would not recommend this hostel to my friends.

Great location, friendly and helpful staff. Downsides were noisy doors (the automatic quiet close hinge was broken near our room), tiny and cold private room with barely any space to move once 2 people and 2 bags were inside, and nowhere to store clothes while showering in the shared bathrooms. All easily fixed by the hostel with some maintenance and cheap storage items - hope they consider it.

I was in the room 506. This is a big room, very confortable and very COLD. I asked for heating. The staff said they will solve the problem but after 5 nights nothing happens. When you book with hostelworld becarefull that the prices shown are without taxes and you only know it when the booking is finish. Otherwise, good breakfast, close to subway.

Its what a youth hostel should be. For what you pay for it could better but i was only there for 2 nights. There was only one bathroom for males and one for females on my floor and my room was on the other side of the floor and they were quite outdated and cramped. The breakfast in the morning was really good though and having a cafe-esq bit in the hostel was a great thing as it served burgers and what-not instead of trecking into manhatten. The subway was close which made getting central v.easy
