It was the most terrible hostel that I stayed. There were lots of funny activities everyday. But that's the only good thing of there. There was no elevator even though female dorm is 4th floor. If you have any heavy bag, never go there. And the heater was crazy-hot, and we couldn't control that. The bed sound was terrible, and it looked so weak. The blanket looked dirty, too. I'll never go there again.

The hostel was excelent, the people who was attending the reception was very helpful and amiable. The bathrooms were clean, the rooms very nice. Also i think that the posibility of leave your stuff there even if you've already check out (for the day) is a great service. For the price that they ask, i think is a very good chance in NYC.

There were tags in the bathroom. The room where we could leave our lugagge remained open all the time so that anyone could walk in. But my roomate was great and we went sightseeing together. I didn't spend much time there.

Hot water in female and me showers did not work on final day. End shower was always leaking into floor. Cleaning ladies were quite rude at times.

The staff was very helpful, but one of the girls was always very insistent to go out at night. The room is cleaned every day. You have free wi-fi in the common room (you have to pay if you want it in your room). There is no elevators (I was in the 3rd floor), but you can leave your biggest baggage in the first floor (near to the reception).

Expect them to jack up the price about 75 dollars from what you are quoted.

Its basically just a place to sleep, don't expect much from it. They don't have a kitchen or a vending machine. They don't have water fountains and they don't sell water either. We paid 120 dollars for a room that didn't even have a sink in it. Bathrooms were pretty bad too. You need ear plugs if you're gonna sleep there cause for whatever reason you hear doors slamming all night long. The maid started knocking on our door at 10am and on every 15min even though check out is at 11am.

Good and bad here. Staff are excellent, location is close to Central Park and a heap of subway stations and the rooms are clean and spacious enough (2 bed room). Unfortunately the area does not feel very safe especially at night, the heating is excellent but way too hot and no way to turn it down in your room and the beds are really uncomfortable, plastic covering the mattress and springs poking out everywhere. It's probably further away from everything than I wanted but was an ok place overall.

I know a lot of comments suggest, that the hostel is a little cold. We made the exact opposite experience. A radiator heated up to maximum, without a possibility to turn it off! Showers and restrooms are disguting (and I am NOT easily disgusted!)

Very quite and relaxed hostel. The bad thing: they don't have elevators and you need to carry your luggage through stairs. The good thing: shared rooms only have two beds and are spacious and you always find bathrooms and showers empty (at least in winter). The neighborhood is safe but in winter there is nobody on the street after 9PM and subway is three blocks away. Even though they organise comedy and jazz shows, atmosphere doesn't seem to be what they are best at.

First impression was the receptionist who was not that friendly as in other hostels i managed to stay in (Jazz on Amsterdam street, Chelsea). No lift, needed to carry by luggage on the 4th floor, when entering the corridor faced garbage right at the floor... Impression was bad before I came into the room. The room was clean (stayed in the 2 beds room), with enough plugs located near the beds, mirror. In the morning there was coffee i could find in the lobby. In general the room was fine...

Good Hostel for NY, good price, close to the subway. Clean room, baths not that much. Nice commom area. Hostel arrange free entrances on clubs sometimes. Lacks vending machines for late nights arrivals. Shuttle service is good price to all NY Airports ($20 to Newark is quite good). Lockers are small. I would stay there again. Way better than Jazz on Amstedam Avenue. Free Wifi, Amstedam one is 3 dollars a day.
