We had an awesome stay at the jazz. It's a hostel, we got everything we expected. The organised activities were heaps of fun! We love Len! Would stay here again!
I spent only one night at Jazz on the Park-Hostel, but it was ok. Good and safe place in New York.
Not the nicest experience, a bit of a Grubby place, and very basic. The single beds are not great quality and you can feel every spring in the mattress. You can here every little noise in the hallway and outside the room for late night guests and the bathroom facilities are average at best, I did expect a bit more from this place. Great location the UWS entrance to Central park which is a redeeming feature and a quiet chilled part of town.
The location is pretty good close to C train, room size was ok, and they have showers separated from the bathroom facilities. The inconvenient part is that there was only a bathroom per floor and the lack of showers in every floor (one floor just men and the other only woman showers), beds not so much comfortable and very noisy, no place to store food, free internet only works when nobody else is using it, some helpfull staff members, but not all of them.
I enjoyed my stay here. The staff do a lot to make you fell welcomed. Besides that they make it easy for travelers to meet by arranging different social activities. The hostel is close to a subway and to Central Park - so everything is just around the corner. All in all, I would recommend this hostel for younger travelers.
Apart from the staff the rest in this hostel sucks. Bathrooms in horrible conditions, cockroaches all around and REALLY filthy toilets. Never seen ANYTHING like that toilet in my whole life. A real nightmare. Don't stay there.
Great staff really nice and make u feel at home away from home.. shared showers with curtains between them but its not that bad. The rooms are not too crowded and have a sofa and couch.. great!
1) The breakfast room are not organized properly, dimly lit up, limited facility to wash. 2) The refrigerator to store the food not working for a long time since New York City Health Department deemd it unfit to store the food. 3) The notices and activity posters are not organized as well as they do in many other hostels.

This hostel is not the worst I've stayed in, but for sure not the best. Location is not awesome, but there is a subway station really close. It is ok for a cheap stay in NYC.
Excellent location next to the Central Park. Staff are generally ok, although efficiency is not their top priority, as they often chit-chat among themselves even when there is a queue at the reception desk.
