I didn't feel safe while walking around the area, even though the staff told me it was safe. And some time after i heard it wasn't sabe at all. I felt like the energy of the place was kind of heavy. Didn't see a lot of people at the place. Although i thought the place has good price rates.

Hi Katia, I am sorry you felt like that. My daughter walks around Central and none of us have had a problem in 23 years staying here. Out of all the areas Central has the friendliest people from all over Africa, and it is one of the few places left where people will greet you on the street. There is a perception from people who do not stay in the area that the area is not safe, but the reality and the crime stats do not back this up. Also I am quite surprised that you gave us full marks for security even though you said you did not feel safe? Did you not perhaps think that 1 was good and 5 bad? Then all the other numbers should be higher?

I just stayed for one night and had no problems. The owner is a nice man who came to welcome us as soon as we arrived. I would reccommend the hostel at least for a one night stopover.

Thank you for the excellent service, hospitality and friendliness. This is a very warm and welcoming hostel. The facilities were super comfortable and clean. The cottage in the garden was fantastic. It really felt like being in the country. I enjoyed staying here very much and will recommend the place to my friends.

These guys were absolutely fantastic. They went out of their way to make us welcome and help us with bookings and advice. Right in the City centre with everything you want. Could catch up with some shopping. Would definitely recommend this place.

After a long trip we were warmly greeted. Great hospitality from all the staff and it was very interesting talking to Beauty. The beds were good and there was hot water all the time. Stanley Street was amazing with all the different restaurants and buzzing nightlife. Definitely do the full day Addo and Schotia Safari if safaris. We saw a large number of animals and the guides were awesome.
