Jimmy was incredibly helpful in recommending places to see and do, and was really personable and friendly! If you want somewhere small and cozy and relatively quiet, with a super helpful owner, Jimmyz is the place to go!

I really enjoyed staying at Jimmyz! The beds were really clean and you meet many people in the common room. The staff gave me good tipps of places to go. The hostel is pretty close to the main outgoing area Susukino. So you can easily walk back.

Whatever shortcomings the hostel has Jimmy more than makes up for it. He's fluent in English, friendly, warm and helpful. As soon as I checked in he gave me a map and circled all the places I should see and where I should eat and drink. It was fun to talk with him in the evenings over good jazz music. If you are going to the airport, consder taking the airport shuttle bus - it's a five minute walk from the hostel to the stop, cheap (only 1000 yen), hassle-free and takes about an hour.

Really helpful staff. On arrival I was given a map of Sapporo and marked on it was not only the main tourist spots but also some good restaurants within walking distance from the hostel.

I had an enjoyable stay at Jimmyz; the owner, Jimmy, is extremely helpful and providing valuable information on places to eat, transport, etc. and also in general about Japan. The hostel is small and quaint and has a character of its own. A great place to stay and meet other people.

We chose Jimmyz because of the reviews about how helpful and nice Jimmy himself was and we were not disappointed. Although we rocked up late, he was happy to sit down and plan our early morning journey to the airport with us, providing train timetables and advice. The hostel was in a quiet spot but it was an easy walk to the centre of Sapporo for dinner. It was also relatively small, basically a regular 2 bedroom house with the rooms as dorms which was fine for us. Also, it was nice and warm.

Jimmy was one of the best hostels I have been to. It was charming, and Jimmy is a wonderful guy. The one thing I'll miss most is the down blankets on the beds: it made sleeping very warm.

Jimmy is an awesome hostel manager! He gives you more information than you need to enjoy Sapporo and other regions. Very friendly and there is a common lounge to converse with Jimmy and other guests. It was a great experience.

My stay at Jimmyz was quite amazing. The owner goes above and beyond to make sure that you have a comfortable stay. He showed us where the locals go and was a host of information about Sapporo. His English is fantastic and likes to learn about all cultures and people. Will definitely go again!
