Good hostel to chill a day or two in the suburbs of San Salvador. Dorms are rather small but very comfortable. No lockers though. Few good cheap restaurants around and bus for city center just at the corner.

I can't say enough great things about this hostel, and Ana in particular. She was incredibly helpful and kind. The hostel was clean and comfortable, and very safe. There was a nice sociable atmosphere and the outdoor patio is centrally located within the hostel, making it very welcome. The location is IDEAL: in the mild suburb of San Benito, walking distance to the UCA, Centro Romero, and Ticabus stop. Ana was very helpful about arranging cabs, giving directions, etc.

Even if a little bit pricy, I recommend it for the help that Ana can give you for any needs! We stayed only one quick night so I cannot tell so much about hostel atmosphere..

when I arrive, the host is not there, the staff arrange everything in the beginning, however, the staff did't speak in English, so we got some problems with communication, the staff still try his best to do everything, the atmosphere is really good here,

Clean, quiet, good hot water, lots of cheap places to eat nearby since its a university neighborhood, and it's really easy to catch the bus to Sonsonate (for Juayua) from here.

Joan's Hostel is the cleanest hostel I've ever stayed at. The beds have thick comfy matresses, soft pillows, and warm duvets. Showers have hot water and great water pressure. The hostel is well located in a student area where it is safe to walk around at night, with lots of cheap places to eat nearby. If you are travelling from San Salvador to Sonsonate or Juayua the bus passes right by the church at the top of the street, saving you a trek into the town center to the bus terminal. Ana the hostel owner is v
