We enjoyed our stay at JoAns hostel very much. We can only add to the praise that Ana (the owner) receives as she really does go out of her way to help you, if she doesn\'t know something she will find out for you. Having a kitchen is an absolute bonus but there are plenty of restaurants around if you don\'t want to cook. The city centre is only a 0.20 or 0.25 cent 20min bus ride and there\'s a great supermarket round the corner.

Had a wonderful stay here in San Salvador. The neighborhood is nice and safe and you can find paposas just around the corner - which is a great El Salvador traditional dish. I was able to walk to the national museum and art gallery in about a half hour. The owner went out of her way to make me feel welcome. I would recommend this place to anyone. Just a tip - bring earplugs as the birds like to start up at 0500.

There are not a lot of daily tours in El Salvador making it difficult for me because I rely on tours because I do not know how to get by because of poor spanish... I am glad Ana Luisa, owner, helped me a lot!

This is my favorite hostel in San Salvador (I've stayed at 3 so far and visited 5). It's got style and it's homey, and it is VERY safe and secure... like staying at a friend's beautiful modern house. The staff are super friendly and give lots of great travel and sightseeing tips, and it's in an awesome neighborhood, right next to a university and near lots of cafes, a few bars and a 10 minute walk from the pupusa-heaven of Antiguo Cuscatlán with dozens of traditional and modern pupuserias.

This hostel has a lovely outside sitting area and tastfully decorated inside areas. Te owner is amazing. She took us out to the beach for the day and looked after our every need. We have never had such good care.

I was very impressed with the organisation at the hostel. The owner, Ana, was so helpful before arrival and during my stay with advice and ideas, even helping to book my next hostel for me. The hostel is well located in an area with easy access to bus routes to downtown, the beaches and museums. Thoroughly recommended. Derek Bob Mather
