We had a great time staying here. The location was great, the staff was very helpful and it was exactly what we needed and in our price range.

The manager is very sweet, professional, and hard working. The rest of of the staff needs to go. The owners need to seriously invest in renovation. Location is great.

I think the Joe and flo's was nice stay for the price. We where told it was not a save neighborhood and keep things lock up outside. The place did not have a lot of room to chill out. Its was nice to sleep and shower. They did have a back yard patio but it was unusable or under construction.

We had planned to stay one night and ended up staying four. This hostel is perfectly located. It is in a quiet area so that you can have peace and quiet if you want to. But it is in easy walking distance from the French Quarter and the Jazz clubs in Frenchmen's Street. The rooms are quite big and not as crowded as some other hostels. Breakfast of 'make your own pancake' is include. Staff was always friendly and helpful and we felt very save being here and walking to town.

The blanket a staff gave me was infested by some bed bugs. I didn't notice this until I felt itchy all over the part i covered with that blanket, and found these bugs under the light. Also, some days a breakfast was not prepared as said in the ads. In short, this hostel severely disappointed me.

We had a great stay. You can tell that they have worked hard to re-open following damages from the storm. Their rehabilitation efforts should not go unrewarded. The location may seem a bit shady at first, but you are two blocks from a main artery that leads into to heart of the French Quarter. We saw plenty of people walking around at all hours of the day, and we were not once worried about our well-being. The staff was incredibly helpful, friendly, and informative. We'd stay here again.

I got a private room, walking distance to the French Quarter for only $50 a night! The bed wasn't great, but I had plenty of space and cash left over for food!

This was actually my first time staying in a hostel. I was very pleased with what I got. My only strife was that there was a $10 deposit made through hostel world, which was not accounted for when I paid the bill for my stay.

Lovely desk staff. Surely the owner will refute our comment, but it's true they recouped their web listing fee. Claimed the rates changed since booking the room. The 10% deposit to secure a unit (which goes to HostelWorld) is what one may find tacked on to the bill when checking out. Would not have found the hostel without this website, therefore 90% of rate is better than $0! Lame trick. Also: if you go for the private bath, make sure the shower functions! We had to use the public bath.
