JUST AN OK HOSTEL??? We are located in the heart of Treme. 5 blocks from the French Quarters 8 blocks from Bourbon Street. All our rooms are centrally aired and heated. All rooms have telephone, T.V. and microwave. All rooms and entrance are KEYLESS for security. The entire building in WIFI and CLEAN. We have a lounge with a T.V. and computer use We serve complimentary coffee and pancake for breakfast. We offer shuttle serve to and from the airport or train/bus station. We have a friendly and knowledgeable staff to assist guest . The list goes on, bur . . . If this is just O k, come on in a see what's all the FUSS IS ABOUT!!!

Good internet and lovely staff. Not much crockery and cutlery in the kitchen for cooking. Only 1 bathroom to share between the ladies staying there. My room had a funny odour. Great that they offer airport transfers. Close walk to all the sites. Good atmosphere.

Once again we are pleased here at Joe N Flo's that another guest was comfortable and very well taken care of while staying at our wonderful "HOME AWAY FROM HOME". Also we are excited to offer the airport shuttles which allow our guest to have greater transportation flexibility. Yes, she was correct it is a close walk to all the sites, good internet, good atmosphere and a lovely staff as she stated. Very friendly staff, reasonable location if you don't mind walking lots. Only one male and female bathroom which were often occupied as we stayed when the hostel was fully booked. Good pancake breakfast but there were only two plates available in the hostel. Overall decent value for money.

We are taking the comments about the availiablility of our restrooms into careful consideration for future guest. Yet, the comment that we were fully booked reminds all future guest of the oustanding services that our HOSTEL offers and that is why everyone desires to stay at Joe N Flo's while touring in the "BIG EASY"!! We are also excited that you enjoyed the complimentary pancake breakfast and yes we do have more than two plates, there were many guest enjoying the pancakes also.

Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Quiet street, but walking distance to French Quarter and on a bus line to everywhere else. Good security with codes on main door and rooms. More expensive than other hostels, but also the best location and accommodation.

Yes, the staff is always helpful and friendly and the area is quiet and safe for all our guest. We appreciate your security comments about our room door codes and the main front door codes. Also, as you stated, "we are the best location and accomondation for the price!!"

The facilities looked very warn down, the services offered are very poor and the front door didn't always lock at night with no staff at the front office. Overall, very disappointing experience!

The staff at Flo and Jo's was great- very warm and accommodating. Although the neighborhood initially seemed a little sketchy, we never had any problems and felt safe during our stay. We frequently walked/ran to the French Quarter and around the area. As Flo and Jo's got busier, the bathroom space felt limited, but the stay overall was pleasant and we enjoyed our time in New Orleans as a whole.

This place made us feel at home right away. The staff (Ariadne) was very helpful and friendly. The rooms are nice and cozy, and the whole place was very clean. Really nice kitchen and backyard. The rooms and front door are code locked, so you can forget about keys on Bourbon St. The French Quarter is just 5 blocks away. Our overall experience was very positive. Definitely recommend this place for an affordable hostel in NOLA.

My wife and I took a 3 week cross country road trip. We stayed two nights in New Orleans at Joe and Floes. I can honestly say that our time in New Orleans was made wonderful largely in part by this enjoyable hostel and is EXTREMELY accommodating staff. Tucker stayed late to greet us as we arrived a little late. He helped us find our way around the city. And he truly showed us southern hospitality. At first we were nervous about the area based on some of the reviews. The area is just fine.

Apart from the terrible airport service, the hostel was satisfactory. Only eight rooms with one shared bathroom. On the cusp of the edgy area of town, not a far walk from the French Quarter. The staff do not have good communication between us, hence being forgotten to be picked up from airport, then almost missing our flight on way back. Best to get a cab!

The management and staff here at Joe N Flo's take pride in handling all of our guest with the treatment of making them feel comfortable. We take great pride in offering a IN HOUSE SHUTTLE SERVICE to our guest so that they can save on taxi service prices. We feel honored to supply that service that is a CHOICE from the management to make our customers feel the warmth of our hostel. It is interesting that you took the time to count our rooms but MISCOUNTED our wonderful and clean bathrooms of which there are three for these eight rooms. Oh well, we do accept the positive statement you made that the hostel was to your "SATISFACTION", so therefore our goal was met as we view it, HAVE A WONDERFUL LIFE!!!!!!!

Thanks for the honest review! We do have a lock on the back door. We usually lock it around 9/10 o'clock at night, but have been allowing it to stay unlock a little later to allow smoker to go out back and smoke (cigerettes) and guest with bikes to park their bikes in the yard and come straight inside. Fortunely, we have never had a safety issue here. Believe it or not, the owner just install a lock on the front door about two years ago because someone made a comment about it. Before than the front door stay unlock 24 / 7 !! The only thing that had locks on it around here were the guest rooms and the office. I say all that to say, it just goes to show the neighborhood is a pretty safe area. Again, thanks for the comments and continue to enjoy your HOME AWAY FROM HOME stay here at Joe and Flo!!!

Joe & Flo's was a great find. At no time did I feel unsafe. he accommodations are pretty much like staying with a friend. We had a private room with a double bed. There was a couch, tv and mini fridge.We had no issues with bed bugs, which I read in previous, older posts and we met some interesting international travelers. The location was great, and close to the French Quarter. I would definitely recommend if you just need a cozy place to sleep at night. It simple, but nice. Great staff.

THANK YOU!!! for the great review. And thanks for mentioning the bedbug situation. We had a professional company to come out here and fumitigate the entire place and since then we have been bedbug FREE! We are asking all our guest, especially those coming from other hotels are hostels to check the luggage and belongings to ensure they are bedbug free so the hostel can remain bedbug free. In conjuction with that we are treating the rooms with bedbug solution on every check out. So far so good!! As always Joe & Flo is your HOME AWAY FROM HOME!!

Craig was really helpful and friendly. We felt safe in the neighborhood even though we had read some pretty bad comments about the area and the hostel. Didn't have any bedbug issues. We are a young couple and came back by foot from downtown at 1 am without encountering any problems. I Would recommend Joe & Flo's to anyone who's interested in being close to the action in New Orleans. Too bad the price is a little high for an hostel, we would have stayed one more night. Vincent

Thankyou for your comment. The staff member mention above is very helpful and does goes above and beyond his call of duties. The staff at Joe and Flos in general is here for "YOU" our guest. We had encounter bed bugs before as every hospitality businesses experience but have them "BUGS" under wraps (SMILE). During any special event time in New Orleans the rate changes!!!!! Unfortunately this guest came in during the "FILM FEST" week!!! We are the only Hostel that has the "HOME AWAY FROM HOME" feeling and will continue to live up to that standards!!!!!!!!
