Staying here was a HUGE mistake. I read previous comments about bedbugs and decided to stay here anyway. I got a private room and brought my own sheets from home to keep the possible bedbugs away. I STILL GOT BEDBUGS all over my face, chest , back and arms. I am reporting this hostel to the health department. What a disgrace! Also, there shouldn't be drug dealers offering me drugs while they sit on the front porch of the hostel. Avoid this place at all costs.

It's a short walk to Bourbon Street (about 10 minutes), but the problem is the location, which is not in a safe neighborhood. We actually had issues getting taxis to come pick us up there because they didn't want to drive through the neighborhood. We didn't feel safe walking back at night. However, the real problem was how thin the walls were. You could hear every word of conversations had in the hall or in the room next door. Bedding was thin, and we slept very poorly as we heard every sound.

Neil and one other small girl were very helpful providing information to where to go, to eat, what to do, etc. They are really helpful, I like it. The hostel has lockers on the main corridor with illumination all the time, but I think it would be safer if the lockers were located inside the rooms. The rooms, beds and sheets are old, but I didn´t expect to find new ones in New Orleans. There´s no outside sign which makes difficult to find the hostel.

private double room seemed a little sketchy and we were wary of the bedsheets, and the men's bathroom sucked. overall it was a great value and location, though, and staff were friendly.

I arrived at midnight and there was no staff there to meet me. After an expensive internI was shocked at the dirtiness of this hostel. The bathroom mats were greasy with unwashed feet. The kitchen was filthy. All walls and floors grimy in corners. Some of the drunk kids who didn't stay at the hostel came in and made riot at 2am. Breakfast is supposed to be pancakes but it's just flour and you can add water yourself, and cook them yourself, if you can find a bowl, but there aren't any. Nor cups!

The hostel was in a very very unsafe area. You must catch taxi into french quarter especially at night and back again. iT'S ABOUT 7 DOLLARS but the taxi ppl try to rip u off and take u down allys which u don't have to go to, another taxi coast us 15 bux. Ppl are friendly but on the whole i would not recommend it and for roughly $32.00 a night it is so so not worth. This is written by to antipodeans age 25. and breakfast is packet pancake mixed with water - absolutely disgusting.

Joe and Floe\'s was great. The staff were amazing, super nice and helpful in every way possible. If/When I go back to N.O., I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

The staff was nice and really helpful. My friends and I booked rooms seperatly, and we arrived and departed on different days, though they manage to put us altogether. They gave us nice advices. The shuttle service is also really convenient, less expensive than taking the taxi and the driver is really nice. I was a little bit disappointing by the breakfast, I expected more from an included breakfast (for instance coffee AND tea, juice, milk, maybe cereal or fruits)

Excellent hostel - close to the French Quarter, clean, reliable and most importantly, accommodating. Some of the friendliest staff I've ever encountered. Bravo!

The hostel is in an OK neighborhood a short walk from the French Quarter. The beds in the dorms are old style wooden bunk beds with no easy way to climb to the top. The rooms are a mismash of furniture, but they did have a small refridgerator and air conditioning. We had messy roommate for the first 2 nights we stayed, but the staff came in and cleaned up after them as soon as they left. The bathrooms are clean, we got the ensuite room (we did have to share the bathroom with one other ensuite)
